Hot Hot Heat: Most viewed pictures

Coachella Day Two: Mark Ronson, Cold War Kids, Hot Chip, Kate Nash and More “Things could be much worse,” sang Cold War Kids frontman Nathan Willett as a sizable hometown California crowd assembled in front of the main stage in the height of the Saturday heat, and he meant it. The band finished up “We Used to Vacation” with guitarist Jonnie Russell slapping a cymbal with a yellow maraca, tested out some new material and performed their stellar cover of “Hang Me Up to Dry,” with Willett breaking away from the mike to pound away at his keyboard. Meanwhile at the Gobi tent, Bonde de Role was stirring up a Brazilian dance party, dropping rhymes over the music from Grease’s “Summer Nights” and filling in for any language gaps with “bah bah bah”s and “chi chi cha”s. An hour later and a tent away, Kate Nash and a tight four-piece band wowed a massive crowd that ranged from teenage girls to muscle-bound men. Perched a keyboard decorated with a drape of red fabric, Nash gently tipped out of her chair with excitement, crooning witty tracks like her single “Foundations” in her endearing British accent and ending nearly every song with mini rave-ups that transformed her neat little tunes into something refreshing and wild. An even bigger (and more aggressive) crowd was busy cramming itself into the Sahara tent for British electro outfit Hot Chip. Despite the 100-degree temperatures, singer Alexis Taylor emerged in a shirt, tie and light-colored jacket to the sounds of “Shake a Fist,” as the group gave the song a clubby overhaul, packing the track with loopy keyboards. Crazed fans climbing the sides of the tent gyrated madly as the band delivered nearly an hour of melodic, smart dance music. At the exact same time, just a day after singer Serj Tankian performed a solo Coachella set, his System of a Down bandmates Daron Malakian (singer-guitarist) and John Dolmayan (drums) debuted their new band, Scars on Broadway. Few outside the obsessive SOAD fan co

K!'s SXSW blog (Part Two)K! editor Paul Brannigan reports from this year's South By South West festival. Thursday, March 19 Day two of SXSW is set aside for a Kerrang!/Guitar Hero party at The Wave on Sixth Street. Over the course of the afternoon Gallows, Justin Hawkins from Hot Leg and Lips and Rob from Anvil will all pop in to check out the five band bill. That and there's free beer for everyone probably helps pack the venue too... Rolo Tomassi kickstart the day with their disorientating spazz-jazz noise attack. In 100 degrees heat the young Sheffield quintet do an impressive job conjuring up Hell with their shrieks, screeches and squawks, with Eva Spence melting hearts with her unique voice. Attack! Attack! have an infinitely more straightforward approach with their classic power-pop structures and the South Wales quartet have heads nodding appreciately as they hammer through the sun-kisses melodies of Honesty. Next up our old friends The Bronx are in blistering form, performing a set dictated by audience requests. Dropping sweat throughout, Matt Caughtran wears a sixty mile smile as he cheerily abuses audience members and the likes of Knifeman and White Guilt go down like a cold Corona on a summer's day. Awesome. There's a change of pace, but no less love for Frank Turner. The hardcore troubadour performs today with a band he met just 24 hours previously, but you'd never guess that from this slick and assured performance. Like former tourmates The Gaslight Anthem Turner exudes warmth and Everyman charm and his tales of booze, bruises and bereavement are sung back at him by hoarse-throated Texans with fists in the air. Closing the show, Enter Shikari are dealt an unfair hand when the PA cuts out several times during their set, forcing songs to be halted, and their frustration is as obvious as it is understandable. But in the face of adversity the St. Albans quartet dig deep, channeling their anger into a gutsy set heavy on new politically-charged material. Ditching hits like Sorry You'r

Let's get intimate with McFly...If, like heatworld, you think McFly are just about the greatest thing since Cadbury's Spira bars (remember them?!), then this little nugget of news is going to get you very excited. Harry Judd, who, let's be honest, is hotter than a fork in a bonfire, and band mate Danny Jones, who, let's face it, has the most kissable mouth on the planet, popped into heat Towers yesterday evening to have a chat with Andi Peters on heat Radio's excellent reviews show Hot Or Not – and they had loads to say. In fact, they nattered away so happily that we couldn't fit it all on the show! But fear not, McFly fans – because we're very generous, and because we know that you'll want to hear every last murmur the boys made, we've put the whole interview, plus some exclusive unheard bits onto a special podcast for you to download. We know, we're not sure how we did it either – good thing there are a few technical types working here. Not only do Harry and Danny tell us exactly what they think of Cheryl Cole, but Harry also has his say on Lindsay's relationship with Samantha Ronson (they did naughty things together once, remember? We still haven’t forgiven her) and both the lads tell us why they think they have the perfect, erm, package. Oh, the things we could say about McFly and their packages... Sigh. Anyway, there's also an amusing moment when Danny's mum joins in with the chat and ends up giving away an embarrassing secret about her sexy son, plus lots of news about the boys' new album (Radio:ACTIVE, out now) and their plans for the future. Are your ears popping out in expectation? Well, we've provided a little taster of the podcast in this clip, but if you want the full chunk then simply click here and follow the instructions. You can subscribe through iTunes, or download direct using the links on that page. So, what are you waiting for? Go and get your very own slice of McPie... Yummy!

Coachella Festivals Puts Celebrities In A Blender And Mixes Em' Crazy
A wacky assortment of Hollywood types flocked to the Indio, CA desert this weekend for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Prince was the big act of Saturday evening, and I would sweat my ass off in the desert, too surrounded by clouds of Patchouli and annoying hipsters texting each other about how much the artists have sold out this year to see Prince. The rumors that he got almost 5 million to play were deemed false by tour organizers.
But look at the wacky mix of celebs! Melanie Griffith? The Hoff? There's Sienna Miller! And the Hilton sisters with that hot little minx David Katzenberg. Kimberly Stewart looking like her hairdresser really hates her ass and finally showed her.
The festival goes from Friday to Sunday. Besides Prince, other peforming artists included my favorite Canadian lesbian twin sister band Tegan & Sara, Death Cab for Cutie, Kraftwerk, the newly reunited Portishead (how does that chick stand the heat?), Jack Johnson and Pink Floyd's Roger Waters. So I guess I would have just gone on Saturday? Cause - blech.
How in the hell does Dita Von Teese look like she just came out of Vogue in 90 degree weather? That broad has icewater in her veins. Sienna Miller looks like that girl who's selling friendship bracelets and/or blowjobs for a ride home.

More photos of the celebrities featuring Dita Von Teese, Sienna Miller, Kelly Osbourne, Kimberly Stewart, Jared Leto, Nicky Hilton, Paris Hilton, Benji Madden, David Katzenberg, Pink, Melanie Griffith and David Hasselhoff at the Coachella Music Festival are after the jump.
