- PATHETIC

On a day that you're feeling like the most pathetic person alive, pop in this album and that feeling is guaranteed to disappear. This album is without a doubt the best way to give Incubus a bad name. I'd love to see Brandon's reaction to this.

- A TRIBUTE????

This album must be called: "A Curse To Incubus".

The songs aren`t played right and the voice is terrible (and terrible is a good adjective).

I give it 1 star cause in here you can`t give less than 1, but in my opinion this must be the worst cd ever in the history of the music industry, its a shame that the outstanding incubus material was destroyed like the way they did.

- Songs for the Deaf (tone deaf....)

I'm jumping on the bandwagon - this album is a waste! I cringed listening to the clips provided. The vocals sound as though they were recorded while the singer was in the shower (and that's not just from the poor quality of the clips provided). Tributes are supposed to be different perspectives on an existing song, not feeble attempts to perfectly recreate the vocal stylings of the original singer. The music behind the singer is not bad - not exactly Incubus but a little different flavor. However, that is all but subdued by the grating performance by the vocalist. Until an "Encomium"-style tribute is released in honor of Incubus, stick with the original.

- People, the real incubus stuff is all you need!

I have read the reviews about this record, and I just want to tell you all that this is NOT the "string quartet tribute to incubus" which is a high quality piece of art. This on the other hand doesn't even qualify as art. It fits better in a garbage-bag than in a stereo.

Does Incubus deserve the tributes? Yes of course, they are excellent. So I'm not going to go too far in this thrashing.. Kudos to the band who made this tribute, for you have chosen a great band to tribute, and I would probably not be able to make anything even close to what you have done, with my lack of musical skills... But it is still not even comparable to what incubus has made throughout the years.. If incubus was a [bad] band, who would care of the rate of this cd? No one, but..as they are as great as they really are and because of how spoiled we are with good music (incubus of course) this tribute can't be seen as something to wish for...

- A realistic view on this CD.

I really would like to meet the guy they got to lay down the vocal tracks for this album, and shake his hand for being able to trick himself into believing, after listening to the playback, that he sounded remotely like Brandon Boyd. Better yet, made himself believe that he sounded like someone who could sing.

The instrumentation is horrible. It sounds like band who WANTS to be Incubus (composed of 13 year olds) recorded this, very sloppily with the wrong counting in places, and then got a random 30 year old man off the street, gave him a lyric sheet and said "have at it!"

Instead of "Tribute to Incubus" they should have titled it "This CD is only located next to real Incubus albums becuase we're hoping you accidentally grab this instead of Morning View so we can make money and believe we have talent." Long title... maybe that's why they chose "Tribute" --because it was short, and sounded offical and NICE. Speaking of nice, I loved the song "Nice to Know You" by the REAL Incubus, until I heard this crap-assembly of retards' arrangement of it. Now every time I hear it, I imagine the singer of The Barenaked Ladies trying to sing it.. but has never heard the song before in his life. I bet he doesn't listen to Incubus anyway. He probably listens to Bob Dylan and Cake.

I leave you with a quote from Incubus' former bassist, Dirk Lance (Alex Katunich); "My tone makes people cry." With that said, this whole freakin' CD will make you cry. Even those of you who thought you liked Incubus. You'll hear this, and wish you could go back in time, get your $15 back (Like I did with that new Interpol CD... the singer sounds like a "They Might be Giants" wannabe). Save your money, stay sane, and keep liking Incubus. The only reason you should ever purchase this CD is as a gag. You could buy the CD, replace your friend's copy of Morning View with it. He would probably then kill himself, but hey, desperate times call for desperate measures.
