This version contains a DVD featuring a live concert of ICP at Red Rocks in Denver, Colorado as well as additional bonus material.

Insane Clown Posse: Shaggy 2 Dope, Violent J.

Recording information: Lotus Pod, Detroit, Michigan.

Purportedly the last chapter in a concept piece that had spanned over a decade's worth of albums, HELL'S PIT further refines the trademark Insane Clown Posse mix of humor-filled gangsta rap and death-metal-esque slasher-flick lyrical imagery. Although rhymes about killing priests, blowing one's brains out, cutting throats with a scalpel, illicit drug use, necrophilia, and shooting angels with a double-barrel shotgun may not be for everyone, few listeners will be able to resist the record's insistent, stripped-down rock-meets-G-funk grooves. In fact, it's hard to believe that so much carnage could be the inspiration for such a good party album; several songs feature beats that sound as if they could have been lifted right out of Montell Jordan's dance-floor classic "This Is How We Do It." Juggalos and juggalettes (the band's nickname for their fans) will no doubt be painting their faces in celebration of this 2004 notch on the ICP axe handle, as HELL'S PIT provides enough gore-and-guts hip-hop to satisfy even the most hardcore fan.

- Welcome To Hell
Finally, the last Joker's Card, the last face of the Dark Carnival has fallen. Well, nothing really happenned in real life, the end of time didn't consume us in real life, but it did consume Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J from the Insane Clown Posse. They have fallen to hell, and there's no turning back from it. From beggining to end, this CD is about wickedness, pain, violence and everything else you should expect from a CD who describes Hell, its creatures, its places and people who have the profile to be taken, by The Wraith, to Hell's Pit, the lower spot in Hell. Just like hell itself, this CD is hot!
Hell's Pit was released in two versions. Version 1 includes a mini-movie DVD called Bowling Balls - a song from the album, and this one - Version 2 - includes a show and a video... If you're not a Juggalo and you want to buy only one version to see what's up, buy this one... This way you'll be able to watch some moments of ICP's carreer in the Undergroung Baby video and listen to more ICP tracks in the show, Bootlegged In Denver. But, if you're a Juggalo like me, you can't miss any of the versions, buy them both! If you have ignored ICP even since you've known them, stop being dumb and buy this CD right now, don't care about what other people think about ICP or the Juggalo nation... You have to listen to it yourself.

- walk into the darkness that is HELL'S PIT
the only way I can describe this album is track by track,
Intro- a dark and strange track with a strange message. 8/10
Walk Into The Darkness- A track about literally going to hell and all the weird stuff that happens there. 9/10
Suicide Hotline- One of my personal favourites with ICP ringing a hotline and rapping down the phone to the hotline guy tellin them not to kill themselves and then gets put on hold. 10/10
C.P.K- an odd but funny tack if you like guys rappin about killin a preacher, reverend and a nun and then finally themselves. 7/10
Truly Alone- A slower and less murder filled track as ICP reflect on what's it's like to be alone for a long time and eventually going insane from being alone. 8/10
Everday I Die- A dark and gruesome track about Violent J and Shaggy going to visit each other but are both murdered by a giant behemoth. 7/10
Night Of The 44- a violent track about J going around killin people who annoy him after he thought the first kill was just a dream but realises it isn't and goes out to finish the whatt he started. 8/10
The Witch- a strange track about Shaggy told what to do by a witch who teaches him how to kill people.7/10
Bowling Balls- a funny and violent track with J and Shaggy rappin about keepin people's head's who they've killed and what they do with them, the title is also the same of the film on version 2. 9/10
24- a track about killin everyone from kids to prostitutes. 8/10
Burning Up- basically about the people spending an eternity in Hell's Pit from a Paedofile to a load of judges. 7/10
Sedatives- a track about J and Shaggy in a mental hospital and being given sedatives and killin' nurses. 7/10
In My Room- another of my personal favourites which basically a sick love song with J being with a ghost and then leaves because of the neighbours findin out so J goes to get revenge on the neighbours to hope his dead lover will come back. 10/10
Basehead Attack- a dark track about Shaggy workin the graveyard shift and being attacked by a load of zombies known as the baseheads. 8/10
Angel's Falling- an odd track about J shootin up at the sky trying to shoot down the Heavens because his girlfriend is up there as an angel and J's tryin to get her back. 7/10
Manic Depressive- a dark track about ICP not wanting to do anything but kill themselves and have no one care about them anymore.
8/10
Real Underground Baby- a beats and samples mix song with a couple samples from every Jokers Card. 8/10
Overall an excellent album with a bonus disc featuring a full live concert and the video for Real Underground Baby.

- The last of the Jokers cards
Hell's Pit the final joker card. Violent J said it him self when he said that this album was not for Juggalos. I've been a loyal follower of ICP since '96. This album is raw and wicked. The album took on a new sound and went back to the horror rap roots. I'll admit that the songs are kinda stale but they are not suppose to fresh. Hell isn't fresh it's stale. The Videos on the dvd's are great. This album isn't meant to be liked, but I enjoy the clowns and all they do. This album is nothing like they've done before Juggalos looking for silly antics and guest spots will be disappointed, cause there isn't any. This album peeled my wig back so far I have to style the backs of my legs. What's next? Who knows. Just ride the stimutax and relax.

- This Album Rocks, And So Do The Extras!!!!
This album is awesome, but the second CD with the extras on it are the real stars of this package. I bought the second version of Hell's Pit and it was well worth it! It's a full ICP concert in Denver, and a 13 minute video that looks back on their career. This is awesome, it's worth buying, especially if you don't have any ICP concerts on DVD. They do all our favorites songs, 24 songs in all! Here's the songs that they do on the concert in order:
Dead Body Man
Hokus Pokus
Assassins
Welcome To The Show
Chicken Huntin
Piggy Pie
Play With Me
Murder Rap
Tilt A Whirl
The Juggla
Birthday Bi*ches
Lil Somethin Somethin
Blaaam!!!
Homies 2 Smoke With
Homies
F*ck The World
The Stalker
My Axe
Boogie Woogie Wu
Get Ya Wicked On
Lets Go All The Way
3 Rings
Down With The Clown
Thy Unveiling
Way worth picking up Juggalos!

- Only a Juggalo Understands it
Perfect dark horror rap. Not one spot missed. ICP does what no one else in the industry can do.....not give a damn. They already showed the brighter side of death with Shangrila but now they tell you the other side of the tale. Hell's Pit is the depth of burning, wishing for death and most of all sinning. The Insane Clown Posse, detroit's infamous rap group, have the long-living, flesh-eating cult of so-called juggalos. I am one of the juggalos. I have every album by the duo and i haave to say, this review will not be helpful if you are just some retard who listens to eminem or any other Pop-Rap stars. ICP followers generally stay focused on ICP and anyone else joined in Psychopathic Records such as Twiztid, Zug Island and Esham. These people arent featured on Hells Pit because ICP didnt wanna see anyone in that mess.
ICP released this album a year after Shangrila. No true juggalo can say which one is better, because both are complete opposittes. This CD has a few unexpected laughs, but it is mainly something that makes you cringe with fear. Each song has a great plot and a great point. If someone in this world who cals himself a juggalo says Hells Pit is whack or unfit for ICP, they should know that they are big f**king fakes.
The first time i listened to this album i thought, wow i never would have expected this. I listened to it again and i thought, the things they say on here must be the things eating at them from inside. This CD is very meaningful to anyone who ahs been following the group and it is the marking point for the final joker's card. The way the beats are crafted with the gruesome and dark lyrics are perfect for hell.
This CD not only has a parental advisory but an EXTREME parental advisory, as it say on the album. To the left corner of the CD it also says RESTRICTED-EXPLICIT LYRICS AND VIOLENCE. These ratings are very well deserved because this album is very VERY gruesome. SOme songs on here are pure violence. I never said thats a bad thing though........
1. INTRO (10/10) --Perfect intro to hell. THeres flames, people burning and something you dont want to listen to at night
2. WALK INTO THE DARKNESS (10/10) --Perfect song for the beginning. It quotes in the song, "This is a place for those who chose to give a f**k less." Violent J raps about how he comes to school and blows everyone to bitcs and then Shags raps about killing people at a church. The last verse is J rapping about what hells like.
3. SUICIDE HOTLINE (10/10) --Probably the best or one of the best songs on the album. J is depressed and he's having trouble staying alive. I guess this is how he is sent to hell.
4. C.P.K. s (7/10) --Good song but the chorus is a little weak. if you are wondering what CPKs means it stands for Crooked Preacher Killers. The song is all about killing every single person in a church, namingly the crooked preacher, and at the end blowing eachother off the map. If you're saying, why??? The preachers are all crooked, that's why!
5. TRULY ALONE (8/10) --The first 2 minutes are a little weak but the thrird verse is the greatest thing ever. The chorus is tight and goes perfect with the song. In the third verse, J gets pressured and sstarts a rampage in a Super K. He goes crazy.
6. EVERY DAY I DIE (8/10) --J's part is great. Shaggy's part is not the best of rhyming, in fact some of the rhymes are exactly the sam words. The chorus is the tightest cuz its all this metal and rap mixed.
7. THE NIGHT OF THE 44 (10/10) --Great song. Perfect violence. Probably the 2nd best on the cd. In the midst of Js rhymes a clip comes on where a black comedian says "Well who hasnt been on a PCP binge and shot a few cops.
8. THE WITCH (7/10) --Crazy fantasy song. Great beat. Some of the rhymes arent great but altogether its a good song.
9. BOWLING BLLS (6/10) --Creepy song, if you think about it. This song is about J and how he cuts everyones heads off.. the scary part of it is that he acts like its a normal song. Its not the greatest song and the movie isnt either.
10. 24 (8/10) --Good sequel to 12. I like it a lot. The only probably is that its a little short.
11. Burning Up (8/10) --Good song. This is a deeper description of what hell is. It also describes everyone who is in hell and what they did. Theres something funky about his voice.
12. SEDATIVES (9/10) --Great dark rap. The beginning is weird but after that its scary a nd tight.
13. IN MY ROOM (10/10) --One of the best songs ICP ever made. J has an imaginary friend. He kills for her and goes crazy. Its sad and the creepiest song out of the album. The chorus is tight and the lyrics are unbelievable.
14. BASSHEAD ATTACK (6/10) --Bassheads are crackheads that attack. J really shows his talent in this song.
15. ANGELS FALLING (6/10) --Not the best song. Its above average but it's too repetetive.
16. MANIC DEPPRESSIVE (8/10) --Good but not great
17. Real UNDERGROUND BABY (10/10) -- Best ending of a saga anyone could ask for. it includes samples from every album, even Dog Beats.
Average Song Rating : 145/170 (8.53)
