Isis to split upIsis, the Massachusetts prog metallers have told fans they're to quit following a series of U.S. shows this summer. "Isis has done everything we wanted to do, said everything we wanted to say," reads a statement from the band. "We've seen too many bands push past the point of a dignified death and we all promised one another early on in the life of the band that we would do our best to ensure [we'd] never fall victim to that syndrome."

Polar Bear Club announce new album and UK datesFormer Kerrang! Introducing stars Polar Bear Club have announced that they are working on a new release, and will be back in the UK this May/June for some headline shows. The band will be entering the studio next month with producer Matt Bayles (Norma Jean, Isis, Mastodon) to record their first effort for Bridge Nine Records. "Recording with Matt Bayles is going to be mind-blowing," says Polar Bear Club drummer Emmett Menke.
