The Roots, Ziggy Marley, Menudo To Honor Earth Day and Certain Green Plants Eight U.S. cities will host festivals on April 20th to honor Earth Day. The Green Apple Festival and Earth Day Network will stage the events, which will feature performances by the Roots, Gov’t Mule, Mickey Hart’s Mass Drums, Ziggy Marley and other jam-happy acts spread over the eight cities. Hmm, a bunch of jam bands playing ecologically friendly venues to hippie crowds on April 20th? Sounds like the concertgoers will be celebrating something other than Earth Day. It’s not all thirty-minute guitar solos, however: Arrested Development and Menudo will headline the Miami show, while the Chicago event at the Lincoln Park Zoo boasts a special emcee appearance by Chicago Bears backup quarterback Kyle Orton. And don’t even get us started on the prospect of Big Head Todd & the Monsters rocking NY’s Central Park. To get the full break down of who’s playing where, follow the jump. 2008 Earth Day Network/Green Apple Festival Free Line-up NEW YORK Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder Big Head Todd and the Monsters Vusi Mahlasela Vienna Teng WASHINGTON, DC The Roots & Friends Gov’t Mule Toots and the Maytals Thievery Corp - DJ set Warren Haynes - solo acoustic set Umphreys McGee DC Boys Choir City Dance CHICAGO Derek Trucks Band Dirty Dozen Brass Band Meshell Ndegeocello Chicago Afrobeat Orchestra Miss Lori Holton Nash The Gwalla Gwallas Event MC- Kyle Orton - Chicago Bears MIAMI Menudo Arrested Development Baby Loves Salsa Caravan of Thieves DALLAS Los Lonely Boys Martin Sexton Junior Brown Cas Haley The Steps George Stanford DENVER The Neville Brothers The Benevento/Russo Duo Rose Hill Drive SAN FRANCISCO Mickey Hart’s Mass Drums Yonder Mountain String Band Brett Dennen LOS ANGELES Taj Mahal Ziggy Marley solo acoustic Juliette and the Licks School of Rock Hollywood Allstars The Frequency Coby Brown [Photo: Getty]

Arcade Fire and John Mayer Join “Austin City Limits” Lineup, Jay-Z Hopes to Christen “Rocawear Arena,” Justin Timberlake Admits VMAs Hangover PBS music showcase Austin City Limits, now in its 33rd season, will kick off on October 6th with a performance by Norah Jones. Also appearing during this season’s seventeen-week run are John Mayer, Bloc Party, and Crowded House. We’ve already set our TiVos for the 11/3 (Wilco) and 11/10 (Arcade Fire) episodes. Patrick Watson’s Close to Paradise surprisingly beat out the likes of Arcade Fire’s Neon Bible and Feist’s The Reminder to win this year’s Polaris Prize, which is given to the best Canadian album. Other Canucks defeated by Watson include the Dears, Junior Boys, and the Besnard Lakes. Jay-Z hopes to rename the Continental Airlines Arena, home of his co-owned New Jersey Nets, “Rocawear Arena” for the next two seasons. Rival clothing companies Izod and Southpole are also in the mix for naming rights to the arena, which will see the Devils move to Newark this season and the Nets bounce over to Brooklyn in 2009. After canceling two North California concerts earlier this month due to “vocal strain,” Justin Timberlake admitted to the crowd at a rescheduled San Jose show that he in fact “was hungover” after partying too hard at the VMAs. Up to $7 million is reportedly missing from James Brown’s estate, which may be the result of mismanagement by a former trustee. At risk: funds for Brown’s “I Feel Good” trust, which goes to help needy children in Georgia and South Carolina.

Peter Andre Is Going To Be Sad When He Sees ThisNot only did his ex-wife, Kate Price, choose this guy over him, but now it seems like Peter Andre's young kids enjoy spending time with Mom's boyfriend, Alex Reid, as well! The boys, Junior and Harvey, seem very relaxed and happy around the gigantic cage-fighter, as they enjoyed an afternoon in the park with him and [...]

The Rockefeller and the Ballet BoysAnother spectacular will contest is dividing the dinner parties of tony America. The recently deceased was Margaret Strong, a plain-Jane Rockefeller who always attracted effete men. Her first husband was the ballet-mad Marquis de Cuevas. Her second was nearly forty years her junior: Raymundo de Larrain, who gave her a wheelchair and new teeth for the wedding. And then, according to her children, milked her out of $30 million.

DirtThe Plot: When Junior (Covert) and Scooter's (Fraim) mother dies, they try and find a woman to take care of them, as they have no clue how to fend for themselves. Their first attempts, with hookers and strippers, are disastrous. Desperate, they kidnap DeDe (Chocol) from the grocery store, only to find that she's a willing captive (it's better than living with her abusive husband (Crooke), who also happens to be the local sheriff). But when Dede's husband gets even with the boys, they plot a larger crime to exact their revenge.

What Qualifies You to Spit Out Pithy Blog Posts From MTV's Red Carpet?“When the Backstreet Boys came to visit my junior high, I didn’t even flinch! Granted, that was over 10 years ago, so they weren’t at the peak of their game, but even so I was cool and collected. I also type fast like lightening and I’m extremely perceptive. As for Harry Potter vs Spiderman, I [...]
