- An older more mature, yet unfortunately . . .

far less entertaining K-Ci and JoJo is displayed on their latest effort X. While artists such as Macy Gray, Jill Scott, David Hollister, Santana & Musiq Soulchild, among others has all released classic or near classic album within the past 2 years Hailey brothers has failed to produce an album of equal quality. With the X album, it appears that K-Ci and JoJo attempts to resurrect the soulful sound the 60's with songs like Wanna Do You Right and I Can't Find the Words. While those two songs stand out as 2 of the albums few bright spots, the album is filled with apologetic themes and run-of-the-mill 60's influenced production. With 10 years in the business and a production team that consists of Teddy Riley, Babyface and Devante among others terrible songs like the Tupac collaboration Thug N U Thug N Me, Game Face, and Ooh Yeah should have never made it past the studio's garbage bin. Just as soulful R&B began to take a turn for the better with a new crop of talent, the genre last significant release of 2000 can best be described as dull and bland.

- got my girl back

I played All The THings I should Have Known for my ex-girlfriend over the phone and now we're back together, what more can I say? These boys continue to maintain their standard since they left Jodeci. This album is the bomb, just like the one before!!!!!

- (3-1/2 stars) Didn't age well

If this album came out now, I would give it three stars. In fact, K-Ci & JoJo's first album Love Always was the only album they made that was great no matter how many times you played it. THIS album sounded great upon first listen, but after I listened to it again I realized it isn't as good as it could have been.

There are some obviously good songs like "One Last Time", "Crazy" and "Something Inside Of Me". But then there are also some songs that don't sit right with me. "Suicide" flows well, but you have to admit that "I never thought of suicide/Until you took your love away" is a little extreme. There's also filler like "Thug N U Thug N Me" and the Timbaland-produced "Game Face"; and the hidden track, the ironically-titled "Slip And Fall", should have never been found. Speaking of which, since when are hidden tracks found BEFORE the end of the album?

It's rather disappointing that K-Ci & JoJo keep experimenting at times and give us some tracks that don't sound like them. Let's hope their next album can compare to the classic that Love Always is.

- Something a little different from K-Ci & JoJo

Several songs on this CD are a departure from K-Ci & JoJo usual soulful ballads. Some Hip-Hop is also included on the CD. The CD receives 4 instead of 5 stars from me not because I didn't enjoy all of the songs but because of the very sexually explicit lyrics present in some of the Hip-Hop songs are not suitable for all audiences. Other than that, another good CD from K-Ci & JoJo.
