The emotional journey undergone by vocalist Johnathan Davis on tracks like "Hey Daddy" is truly strengthened by his movement away from his more abrasive vocal style and toward a more dominantly melodic approach. Davis digs more deeply into his tortured emotions on efforts such as "No Way," where he sings: "lately things aren't going my way / lately everything is gray / it feels like something / it feels like nothing." That hazy emotional landscape is what strikes a responsive chord with Korn fans and makes ISSUES a landmark album.

KoRn's new album, Issues, is a step up from their weak showing on "Follow the Leader". The high energy album speaks for itself. Even on the "clean" version, the messages live on. Simply purging the four-letter words from songs such as "Trash" and "Make Me Bad" does not necessarily change what the song is trying to say. The first single, "Falling Away From Me" is a good example of the band's ability to perform a fast-paced switch from a slow, melancholy melody to a high energy guitar fest. The superior performances by Munky and Head also help the album. Complex drum beats add to the beauty of it all. Johnathan Davis's telling vocals inspire the listener into thinking of the deeper meaning of the songs. In short, "Issues" is a modern-day rock classic.

issues is korn's best cd yet. they have every type of music that they have played in the past, from the slower more electronics and instruments to the fast loud moshpit stuff. the only let down to this album is that they didn't have any guest singers, which on the other cd's were the best songs. But, jonathan does a lot of the drums on this cd and it adds a lot to the songs. overall this is by far my favorite cd I own.
