Lamb of God Album: “Sacrament [PA] [Limited]”

I've come back to revise my review on the "Producers Edition" of Sacrament. At first I chastized the first reviewer over his complaint that LOG were milking their fans for money because there was no included software to mix the tracks on the bonus cd. While I will still say that is an invalid point because there is Audacity, which is open source recording/mixing software available free online, what IS true is that the marketing for this disc is VERY misleading. It makes me question LOG's integrity. Please guys..don't turn into KISS.

For anyone interested HERE are the facts about the "TRACKS" that are provided for mixing.

They are MP3s!!!! NOT raw .wav or .aiff files. At 192kbps none the less!!!

They are NOT the ACTUAL tracks used in LOG's mixing process. The are stereo rendered mp3 tracks WITH EFFECTS! How can I 'reproduce' something that already has panning, eq, and effects??!?!

You get a drum mix, left guitar, right guitar, lead, bass, and a vocal track that literally has about 6 vocal lines mixed stereo. I had no idea Randy used so many tracks to thicken up his vocals...

I am VERY disappointed with this overall.

The ONLY thing this material is good for is a 'techno' remix/mash up or for musicians wanting to isolate their instrument of choice for figuring out parts. It should be billed as the "Musicians Edition" rather than the Producers Edition.

I personally got this album so I could break down Chris Adler's drum work without all the bass/guitars/vocals. It is the best idea I've seen in the music industry in a long time. The person who called it an 'exploitation' obviously didn't do their homework before buying the album... of course they wouldn't supply software. The people who should be buying this are people into remixing, and those wanting to make their own guitar/vocals/bass/drum tracks to whats already there. 5/5 stars.

I bought the producer edition of this album so I could isolate just the drum work for practice. For that purpose, this is perfect! A great album, and a great idea to repackage it in this format.

For people needing software: get Audacity. I'm importing the mp3s into Audacity projects and so far it works great.

I am incensed right now after wasting ANOTHER $20 on this. As a loyal Lamb of God fan, I expected the band to do right by it's fans and deliver a great idea (producer edition,) but instead I feel RIPPED OFF. First of all, there is no software on the disc. Other artists have given fans the ability to mix songs on their CDs (Lily Allen "Alright, Still) and there was software contained on the CD allowing users to mix the tracks. So, now I'm scouring the internet looking for a trial version of mixing software and wasting hours looking for something relatively simple to use that doesn't end up costing me more money. Don't waste your money or time on this cash grab by the band and their label.
