
The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas Once again it's that time of year to celebrate another football victory. A State Senator (Robert Mandan) adheres to a time-honored tradition and treats the winning Texas A&M football team to a night of entertainment at the best little whorehouse in Texas, otherwise known as The Chicken Ranch. Miss Mona (Dolly Parton) is the owner of this fabled establishment, which is the areas number-one tradition. Miss Mona works hard at her business while garnering a lot of support from the local Sheriff, Ed Earl (Burt Reynolds). Miss Mona and the Sheriff have a mutual respect and understanding for each other, especially with the helpful discretion from the Sheriffs deputy (Jim Nabors). The national exposure comes to the attention of Melvin P. Thorpe (Dom Deluise). He is a self-appointed Watchdog of Texas and a crusading TV consumer advocate who makes The Chicken Ranch his latest target. With all the commotion, Lanville County is no longer a small town it is a big-time problem. The Governor (Charles Durning), a political side-stepper, is pressured to resolve this very controversial situation. He does his best to avoid making a difficult decision that may affect everyone.
