- Mad Not Mad - An Incomplete Band Keeping Up Their Standard

Mad Not Mad was the last Madness album that Madness produced (but a new album is now out shortly), they lacked Mike Barson, their Keyboard player, who wrote many songs and added a certain sparkle to Madness' songs, which no one else can do. However Madness managed to produced about 10 or 11 songs, about half which are excellent, though lacking any Nuttyness whatsoever. It is very difficult to keep up a style, and by this time, Madness had lost it. I only give this album, as it is amazing how Madness produced this in such a time of panic, and confusement.

- Whispy

Sorta insubstantial; MnM takes the quiet, laidback tendencies of Keep Moving to an extreme, with very delicate songs and arrangements. It's not bad; not bad at all. Yesterday's Men is poignant, and the title track and Coldest Day are good. Ultimately, it certainly isn't a very consequential record--it doesn't leave much of an impression--I think 1988's The Madness is ultimately a better record--but it's still worthwhile for fans, especially at the price. Finis.
