- First British Top 10 in over 15 years!

Fantastic comeback song for this awesome band. The song "You're Gone" uses the now-classic "Funky Drummer" drum loop by James Brown in with a catchy tune and great lyrics.

"Faith" was a song originally planned for the upcoming Marbles album, but left out because it didn't quite fit in with the rest of the album. It was performed at the 2003 Marillion weekend concert and is included here on disc for the first time. It was also on the band's "Before First Light" DVD (available through their own website), but a fantastic Steve Rothery slide guitar is added here.

"When I Meet God," a beautiful track off of the previous studio release Anoraknophobia is remixed here, giving an uptempo groove to the song.

This band is fantastic ... the song is new and fresh, and the new album Marbles (out in May) is sure to bring this band to many new ears.

- Your'e Gone but Marillion ain't.....

A sharp, smooth sounding song with a superb production, melodic and catchy vocals all supported by faultless and driving music. Multi-layered and sonically rich, 'You're Gone' features all the traits of great song writting without the cop-out of sickly sweet hooks and two dimensional lyrics. These qualities provide a fresh outlook comparitive to your average top 10 single as 'You're Gone' can be appreciated after many plays without wearing thin and becoming repeatitive, which most singles do in this age of disposable music. Reaching number 7 in the UK Top Ten Singles Charts, it has more than 15 years since Marillion have been so successful but 'You're Gone' a far cry from the ballad romance of 'Kayliegh' and 'Lavander' which were the songs that had them charting at number 2 and 5 in 1985. Marillion's sound over the last ten years is more comparable to a mixture of Coldplay, Radiohead and U2 rather than the prog/rock tag that has haunted them since the late 80's.

Out of the three formats that this single is available in, I highly recommend for value for money the DVD version which contains two edits of 'You're Gone'', a superb remix of the outstanding song 'Quartz' , the video clip of 'You're Gone' and a great video interview with the band regarding the making of the album 'Marbles'.

Marillion are one of todays music's best kept secrets, although they shouldn't be.........

- gorgeous!!!

"Youre Gone" is an excellent single for the new album "Marbles". A beautiful song that is both dancable and smart...rich and complex in music and lyrics. Hogarth really hits his stride here. The song has the feel of U2 but it is vastly superior musically and vocally. I expect Marbles will produce more singles.( "Geenie" would be a nice successor). I just received the campaign edition of "Marbles". It is stunning to say the least, but there is much to digest here and many subsequent listens will be required to fully appreciate the genious of Marillion's latest masterwork. Finally I will say as a fan from the USA, I hope Marillion will tour here soon. I love this band!!

- A favorable advance...

The single mix of You're Gone, it almost demonstrates the validity of Marillion with a trance deep rhythm, a very catching melody in the tradition of their more recent works (marillion.com and Anoraknophobia) and welcome flirtations with the style of U2 or Bryan Ferry. A favorable advance of their desired new album Marbles. The CD is completed with a live version of the splendid Faith (regrettably discarded of the official work) and the remix of When I Meet God, nothing new under the sun.
