- Little Old but great!

This Enhaced CD contains the Sweet Dreams and Beautiful People video, but it's pretty old: Compressed in AVI format and compatible whit Windows 98 (it hangs on Windows XP, however the videos can be played). The video resolution is poor, but it's a great CD if you like those videos!.

- A SHOWCASE OF TALENTS

In this one little four song single, Manson manages to showcase a lot of different things. It shows his ability to write a great heavy song and a great quiet song. It shows he has talent at remixing, doing cover songs, and making making awesome music videos. This has it all. It has his two best songs and the videos to go along with them. THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE should be in every hardcore Manson fan's collection.

- Manson really does have something to say

Marilyn Manson's "The Beautiful People" is truly an intelligent song with meaning. It is so simple and amazing, more people should open their eyes to the king of shock rock. >by the way, i also love Manson's current single, "rock is dead". check it out everyone....especially if you are an outcast like me. i must say it is a gift to be an outcast...i know, like Mari1yn Man5on, that the rest are just ignorantly living their pointless lives. feel free to disagree with me and e-mail me.

- Marilyn Manson - The Beautiful People

I've pretty much left Marilyn alone, figuring that was what was best for the dark angel of moody teen angst pop ... yet here I am. They say that if one hangs around long enough everything will be repeated, and I've found that more true as the years flash by me like some cinematic calendar, with the pages flying off in the breeze one at a time. There's a reason songs from artists you don't have a particular affinity for sounding good, a reason that these songs somehow resinate within your soul, and that's usually because you've heard and cherished the songs, or an aspect of the songs before, and such in the case with "Beautiful People," a song that is perhaps a nod to the Hippies of the 60's who called themselves the Beautiful People. But the real slight of hand comes from knowing and remembering history, especially the history of 45 rpms, where groups came and went, leaving but a few soft footprints in the sand.

Once upon a time there was a group called The Glass Opening, and they had a great little B-Side single back in 1968 on the Plexium and Polydor Labels that nearly no one knew, called "Does It Really Matter?" Well obviously Marilyn Manson heard the song somewhere, cause he co-opted much of it for this bit of climatic musical attitude. Time to give credit where credit is due.
