Marilyn Manson Album: “Last Tour on Earth”

This is the most exciting live hard rock recording since the Ozzy/ Randy Rhodes Tribute album. Manson is a preternaturally brilliant entertainer, and his transcendingly engrossing and absorbing stage show is captured wonderfully here. Made my speakers bleed.

This album is worth picking up, but really doesn't showcase all of Manson's best work. I realize that not all live cds are greatest hits cds but he could've had some different songs on here. The sound quality isn't superb, but it's way better than any bootleg I own and isn't bad either. The best tracks on here are definitely Great Big White World, The Beautiful People, and The Last Day On Earth (acoustic version). The studio track in the end is also great, it was an outtake from the Antichrist Superstar sessions. I think it would have fit in right around the beginning of the album (not important, just thought I'd share that). I really like the studio version to The Reflecting God better because the chorus part is different. I really enjoy the speech in the beginning of I Don't Like The Drugs, it really reminds me of a live Doors recording my mother has lying around. For all of you people who come on here and talk about how he's the devil, ... you haven't even heard the album so you have no business coming in here and giving it bad reviews. You're techincally committing a sin anyway because you agreed that you've heard the cd and you haven't. Back to the album, if you're a Manson fan pick it up, for those casual fans, maybe later down the line, and for non-fans, stay in your commericalized TRL world and look at your Britney Spears posters.

as much as i like manson, and as much as i loved seeing him live when i got the chance, his live shows are an experience. this does not nearly convey what it is like at a manson concert. the last track is the only thing this album is worth. the rest is good, but the album versions are undoubtedly better. buy it if you're a manson fan, like me, or if you were at any of the Midwest concerts this stuff was recorded from. it's a piece of manson history.

The song list for this album is great, however missing a few good songs. The highlight of the album is the intro to "I Don't Like The Drugs", where Manson speaks to the crowd of a dream he had about drugs. He sounds to much like Jim Morrison it's scary.

"Rock Is Dead" and "Antichrist Superstar" are my two favorite songs here, and in my opinion, they sound better live. Of course there's a non-live studio recording of "Astonishing Panorama Of The Endtimes", a great song with good lyrics. If you're worried about sound quality, don't. It all sounds great, near studio quality.

I think Manson songs sound better recorded than live, but this album is great. My only qualm is that it doesn't have two of my favorites, "New Model No. 15" and "Rock 'N' Roll Nigger", but I can't really complain. Chances are a couple of everyone's favorites aren't here. I highly recommend this album to Manson fans, but if you're a new fan of Manson, buy his studio albums first.

Ahoy hoy Marilyn Manson has the best live set I have ever seen, and they capture it very well on this CD. They give those who didn't go a chance to imagine what it must have been like, looking at the photos inside and listening to the heavyness of the album. A GREAT live album, with the added new song Astonishing Panorama..., which also a great new song. John 5 rocks, I hope they continue to put out great stuff.
