Single Minded: Fat Joe, Meshuggah, Kaki King, Snoop and Rick Ross Every Tuesday Single Minded highlights new tracks hitting stores (or the Web) this week. On Fridays, come back for rarities, remixes, mash-ups and more. Fat Joe, The Elephant in the Room [Full Album Stream] Fat Joe’s latest is a grim, ominous concept record based on Horton Hears a Who. Meshuggah, “Bleed” [MySpace] Fleet-fingered metal precisionists return with another collection of smoldering double-time symphonies and one of the most unpleasant album covers since Brain Salad Surgery. Kaki King, “2 O’Clock” [MySpace] And speaking of fleet-fingered: New York guitar virtuoso Kaki King opens this song on her latest record with nimble arpeggios and the lyric “When you wake up you’ll be in such pain.” Just call her the Meshuggah of the coffee shop. Snoop Dogg, “Neva Have 2 Worry” [Official Site] Snoop’s latest is full of songs that reflect on his life and express concern about his future. “Neva Have 2 Worry” is the former. We’re not sure which “Sexual Eruption” is. Rick Ross feat. T-Pain, “The Boss” [MySpace] Rick Ross is the only man alive whose regular voice sounds screwed & chopped.

"obZen" by MeshuggahHave you ever wondered, in your sadistic mind, what it would be like to receive a series of punches in the face, kicks to the neck, and knees to the groin from, say, mixed martial arts champ Chuck Liddell? Maybe you haven't, or maybe you have. But whatever the case, you probably don't have the necessary set of cajones to go toe-to-toe with Mr. Liddell. Well, if you want to listen to a piece of art that mimics what it would feel like to do battle with a martial artist, then crank the knobs on Meshuggah’s uber-mathematical obZen. This album isn't a dirty, short 'n sloppy street fight; it's a lengthy, careful, and calculated mixed martial arts bout. Over the course of their career, these Swedes have continued to manufacture mind-numbing, brain-teasing, highly intelligent metal, and the mechanical, well-oiled obZen is no different. Here, "Bleed," "Letherargica," and "obZen" aren't merely songs. They are like impenetrable walls of sound that are erected around your ears. But Meshuggah don't

Dir en grey, You Me At Six join Download 20009 bill! You Me At Six, Dir en grey, Five Finger Death Punch and Meshuggah are among the latest wave of artists to be added to this year's ever-growing Download Festival line-up. "It's amazing that we've been asked to play Download 2009!" You Me At Six vocalist Josh Franceschi tells Kerrang!. "We love playing festivals and though none of us been to Download before, we know that it's pretty metal! I think if bands like Madina Lake can play Download in the past and not get murdered, then we should be okay! I am sure we'll all walk away with a bottle imprinted on our foreheads, but we're all for the weekend's festivities! We really wanna see Architects, Limp Bizkit and Slipknot." Kerrang! Tour 2009 stars Dir en grey are excited to return to the UK for the festival. "I think everyone in the UK is great and really friendly," says guitarist Kaoru. "We have always wanted to play this festival so we are really honored to have been given this opportunity. We hope to leave a big impression on the crowd!" The metal-as-all-hell Five Finger Death Punch will also be playing - following the success of their recent UK tour dates with Lamb Of God and Unearth. "Our UK brothers and sisters know how to conjure up some devastating mosh pits," says the band's guitarist Zoltan Bathory. "It's an honour to be part of such a huge event!" Other bands revealed this week include prog-metallers Opeth, Velvet Revolver bassist Duff Mckagan's other band Loaded, Steadlur and Lawnmower Deth. Download 2009 takes place at Donington Park on June 12, 13 and 14. The festival will be headlined by Faith No More, Slipknot and Def Leppard. Other bands on the bill include: Anvil, Architects, Billy Talent, Black Stone Cherry, Buckcherry, Chris Cornell, Clutch, DevilDriver, Down, DragonForce, Dream Theater, Journey, Killswitch Engage, Korn, Lacuna Coil, Limp Bizkit, Marilyn Manson, Motley Crue, Papa Roach, Parkway Drive, Pendulum, reunited stoner rockers Karma To Burn, Skin, Tesla, The Blackout, The Prodigy, Trivium, Whi
