Molotov

Molotov Album: “Con Todo Respeto [PA]”

Molotov Album: “Con Todo Respeto [PA]”
Description :
Mexican rock-rap group Molotov blends beats, heavy riffage, and Spanglish rhymes for the bilingual, black-clad nu-metal crowd. CON TODO RESPETO is a covers album, featuring quirky and inventive versions of the Misfits' "I Turned Into a Martian," Gil Scott-Heron's "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised," and Falco's "Rock Me Amadeus." While such a concept might seem to border on novelty, Molotov's edgy aggression and metal-inspired sonic flair keep things interesting and in-your-face.

I'm a fan of the Misfits. I'm also a fan of Molotov. When I heard through the grapevine that there was a new Molotov album with a cover of I Turned Into a Martian on it...I was on a mission! Marciano is a hilarious cover. Amatuer and Chavas equally chistoso. I do like the ZZ Top riffs added to El Tri's Perro Negro y Callejero. The only thing holding back the fifth star, in my opinion, is that this cd lacks some of the harshness of their earlier albums. "Donde Jugaran" still rocks my bilingual cracker world!

- Curious selection of songs, but it's good.

I give the album three stars because when it's good, this album is great, and when it's average, it's very average. Amateur, Marciano punk, Diseno Rolas, La Boa, Mamar and Me Vale Vergara are very good. But the album's highlight is undoubtedly the final version of Mi Aguita Amarilla which actually ranks as one my favourite Molotov songs of all time, and it's a cover. The lowlights of the album are Girls, Quen Pompo, Da Da Da and Marciano pop and are quite a strange selection of songs. You would've thought if they were making a covers album they would go for some awesome old school punk or rock songs, not obscure random ones.

At the end of the day, it's Molotov, it's great and definitely worth a purchase.

- Good For Those Who Speak Spainsh

its a great cd to listen to, but i have heard bad stuff about it, just because some ppl cant understand spainsh and they cant understand a cd they have to give it a bad rap, so plz only bad this cd if ur into spainsh/mexican music, i also liked the Amatuer track alot thats a hit right there, so if ur thinking about getting this Cd its a MUST

- !?!?!?

I think someone forgot to tell Molotov that Rap-Metal/Rock-Rap was Dead. Had potential, but the simple riffage and annoying rapping killed it for me.
