Motorhead: Lemmy Kilmister (vocals, bass guitar); Fast Eddie Clarke (guitar); Philthy Animal Taylor (drums).
<p>Recording information: 1979.
<p>One of a trifecta of classic Motorhead albums featuring the group's penultimate lineup of Lemmy (bass/vocals), Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor (drums), and "Fast" Eddie Clarke (guitar), BOMBER (the other two being OVERKILL and ACE OF SPADES) is as loud, fast, raw, and heavy as music gets. The title track and the opener, "Dead Men Tell No Tales," remain two of the group's all-time definitive tracks, both showcasing Lemmy's patented hoarse growl and distorted bass riffing to spine-tingling and head-banging effect.

- Motorhead - 'Bomber' (Metal-Is) 4 1/2 stars
Originally released in 1979,'Bomber' was Lemmy and crew's second album.Basically another top-of-the-heap serving of British metal-punk(as some might call it).Heck,I'll always refer to it as heavy metal. No matter what you tag it as,it's prime Motorhead;ALL the freakin' way, mate!Key tracks include "Dead Men Tell No Tales","Sharpshooter"(perhaps,a love song?),my favorite "Stone Deaf Forever",the title cut "Bomber" and "Leaving Here".This reissue tags on five(5)beloved bonus songs to lure us to purchase a copy.Pretty sneaky,eh?Recommended.

- Bomber is no bomb
There's no such thing as a bad Motorhead album. The original line up with fast Eddie and Philthy is impossible to beat in the heavy metal realm. Bomber is my least favorite of the Eddie/Phil classic era, but it's still a freakin' fantastic record. I like Ace of Spades, Over Kill, and Iron Fist better, but this is also a must have for Motor heads.
Standout tracks: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Stone Dead Forever

- Too many fillers
This is a very similar album to Iron Fist, in the sense that it too was the follow-up of an absolute classic Motorhead album (Overkill cq Ace of Spades), in the sense that it too was thrown on the market too hastily and in the sense that it too contains too many fillers to be a really strong album. Sad but true, it was this sloppiness in putting out records that explains to a large degree why Motorhead never became as big as Maiden or Priest.
This said, three of the best Motortunes ever are on this CD. The live sensation Bomber, the awesome Stone Dead Forever (in my top-5 of all-time best Motorhead songs), and the slow paced, chilling Lawman should feature in every metal / punk / rock enthousiast's iPod collection. Enough reasons to buy the CD? Sure, but not before you've bought Overkill, Ace of Spades, Another Perfect Day, Inferno, On Parole and Orgasmatron.
- Awesome album from a great rock band!
Classic early Motorhead. Great album! The production quality started climbing up with this album. Love the cover art. I don't have all of their albums yet, but I put this one as number 4, after Orgasmatron, Inferno, and Ace of Spades.
