Disco de Newsboys: “Go [Limited Edition]”

This cd is one of the best cds to come out in 2006! It is awesome! A diverse collection of songs ranging from techno, rock, pop, worship, and more. There are a few slow songs but most of the songs are very upbeat tunes. The guitar sounds and drum beats are awesome. My favorite part about the music is the aussie accents! But the topics remain solid encouraging believers to GO share the gospel to all nations as Christ has commanded us. The album is very Christian but is not at all an unfriendly message to people who aren't Christians in fact many people who aren't Christians maybe inspired to live their lives with more purpose through this purpose filled music. If you like lively music than you will probably love this album! This cd is a must have! The Newsboys are my favorite band and have been for 10+ years and this cd shows how great this band really is and how seriously they take their jobs!

'Go' is a collection of energetic and creative Christian pop/rock. The songs encompass a variety of styles. The overall CD is catchy, fun, and definitely a keeper.

A couple of the songs have gotten wide play on Christian radio. 'I Am Free' and 'Wherever We Go' are probably the most well known. In addition to these, there are several others that make this collection worthwhile. Other standout tracks include the following: 'Something Beautiful', 'The Mission' and 'The Letter'. Another interesting one is 'Your Love Is Better Than Life'. That one starts off with some very well done rapping by Phil Joel (I think).

The song that I think that is the best on the album is one that I've never heard on the radio - 'In Wonder'. It is a terrific song that deserves wide play. The album is worth buying for that song alone.

The version that I got also contains a DVD which gives brief bios of the band members shot on their home turf (except for Paul Colman whose segment was filmed in the Nashville area). The limited edition with the DVD is very interesting for hardcore Newsboys fans, but probably not a necessity for more casual listeners.

I recommend it.

When I got this CD from my family for Christmas, I was really excited, a few good reasons for being excited are: 1. The Newsboy haven't released a rock album since thrive...that was over four years ago. and since I love the Newsboys' rock style, I have been yearning for some stuff other than gospel (Gospel is good, but you get tired of it after awhile). 2. The Newsboys have a unique style that is nothing like any other artist, I have been listening to other artist for a long time, but the Newsboys are one of my favorite bands. 3. I have been gradually slacking off from the Newsboys because of the lack of rock songs, seeing as this is a rock album, I wanted to hear what kinda stuff the Newsboys had come up with.

Anyways, I popped this CD into my CD player and started listening....I was blown away! Its the Newsboys!!! They finally got back to their best thing, writing good and innovating songs! My favorite song is probably 'Something Beautiful', but the Newsboys-style rap song, 'Your Love is Better than Life' is pretty funky too.

I strongly recommend this CD, I have listened to it at LEAST 10 times at the time I am writing this, and I am still nowhere near tired of hearing any of the songs. If you are that Newsboys fan that has slacked-off over the years because of not enough rock songs, you better hurry and get this CD, you will love it!

This is another classic from the Newsboys, it is excellent, inspiring. It gets me on my feet and back in touch with the Savior. I love it and what's more, so does everyone else in our household. Buy several and send them to our soldiers in Iraq. Love to you all.

I've had connections with cds in the past, with the Newsboys and with other artists alike... you know, the one or two songs on a disc that stick with you and help you get over the rough bumps of life, or the songs that really get you going.

This disc almost begs you to play it through from beginning to end.

It's almost unfair to totally approve or dismiss "Go" immediately without taking time to dive into it - although it's kinda like diving into chicken alfredo pasta after you've waited about 90 minutes for it at a restaurant (i.e. you're HUNGRY for food). Sure, the initial bites are fantastic, and you're ready to wolf it down...

But listen to it again a few weeks down the road... listen to songs like "Something Beautiful" when you are worshipping God for all He is... listen to "Let It All Come Out" when you need to come before God to confess your sinfulness to Him... listen to "The Letter" when you need encouragement... and you begin to understand that "Go" isn't just for listening to great songs. Like any Christian music cd out there, it becomes a tool to reconnect with God again.

For the sum total of my experiences, "Go" is like "Step Up To The Microphone" - but with more punch; like "Love, Liberty, Disco" - but with a galvanized sense of direction; with even more powerful impact than "Devotion". To be completely honest, it's a spiritual midsection of the Christian life: "Go" realistically feels like a journal of experiences and scripture verses. I wonder if it wasn't the collective wisdom of the 'boys to come up with a new cd, one that communicated the importance of continuing on the journey with Jesus Christ... it sure feels that way to me.
