- Sing Me Away

One of the things I wonder about when I listen to music, is if the bands still like their old songs and hits and if they still enjoy preforming them. This album definitely speaks for itself. Its raw, fresh and full of wonderful memories. These guys are still at the top of their game. You get the impression that they still think about the emotional experiences in the songs. All the heartbreaks and inspirations that I relate with. Thanks guys.

- Very Underrated Band

What a great bunch of songs... They deserved to be re-recorded for sure. I would have like to have had a few more cuts, but it is what it is. Great bunch of artists who produce outstanding music.

- Very tasty..

This isn't anything new but what they with the song felt like you were with them recording the songs. All very raw and I like it.

- Greatest Hits Re-Recorded - And Very Well

I came across this CD while doing some mindless surfing, and I listened to it on my online music service. I must say that this is a very good collection of reworked tunes. A couple of other reviewers (Mitch & William Smith) got it right - these are faithful renditions recorded with the benefits of modern technology. I listened to a few originals back to back with the versions on this CD, and the new ones just jumped from my headphones with more power & clarity. Jack's & Kelly's voices are fine - they've aged some, but they're still very good. I listened for the "chipmunk" effect Mitch mentioned, but my ears didn't catch it, although some of the high notes in "Sister Christian" were more pinched than on the original. I liked the subtle nuances in these versions too - we've all aged 20+ years since these tunes first appeared, and I think that maturity is reflected here.

For the casual fan, you might prefer this version over the other GH versions because of the improved recording quality. These songs sound darn good. For everyone else, it doesn't really offer anything new, but it will sound better on your stereo than the originals.

Wonderful songs. Improved recording.

Amazing electric guitar work by Jeff Wattson and Brad.
