- The Greatest Single Ever Released
For some bazzare reason this single doesn't feature on any of the Oasis albums but is the greatest single that they have ever released. It took me 3 week to track it down and was well worth it. All my mates love it.

- Whatever reminds me of Bitter Sweet symphony from The Verve
Whatever is an excelent song, a classic anthem in England. This song features the "London Session Orchestra" and they do a marvelous and impressive job with the strings, they enrich in big part the song, this orchestra was the same that played strings on many verve' albums. The strings are all over this song, there is even a 2 minute ending with only the strings playing it... is beautiful...
The b-sides are cool, but nothing compares to the beauty of whatever. If you enjoyed bitter sweet symphony because of the strings, then you will you enjoy this single... oasis hasn't relied upon strings since then, which its a shame...

- wonderful!
Absolutely one of my favorite songs of all time. Listening to it is an experience for me and I never get sick of it. Definitely worth adding to your collection...even with the steep price.

- The Best single of the 90's?
Out of all the singles I bought in the 90's there is no single I can think of that is as grand as Oasis's "Whatever". Oasis have always been an amazing single band and this one wins the prize. This single in itself is as great as both their first two albums. The grand "Whatever" which speaks to the soul and spirit of living and could easily win over the most cynical. The music and lyrics reach something that I have only heard a few times in music. The B-sides are just as great from the freedom guitar-driven "Its Good To Be Free" to one of Noel's best vocal solo tracks "Half The World Away". The single ends with "Slide Away" a song from the band's debut LP "Defintley Maybe" which is like an un-forced encore. We are left with a glorius highpitch guitar and Noel's vocals heard lightly in the background. This music will make you happy to be alive. If their is one Oasis single you get, Get this one.
