Just what I look for in a contemporary dub compilation. Who would have ever guessed it would come from France?! I suppose I shouldn't be so surprised considering that the best dub compilations I own are from Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. This album may not be entirely pure dub, it's not, however the various sounds at work on this c.d. all owe their existance to dub/reggae, hip-hop, and drum&bass. As a diehard dub fan I find myself fully satisfied by the offering made from the French masters heard here. P.S. I've changed me rating from 5 to 4 stars because there are even better international dub compilations out there.
While not nearly as trippy as the first volume, the 2nd compilation has a nice variety of dub + any genre of electronica you've got. Track 3 has got probably the most unique drum n bass part you'll ever hear, and track 10 has got this super-sick/super-mellow scratching that will perk your ears. Try the first cd, and if you dig it, give this a shot.
