- Pleasant Surprise

Went to see Jethro Tull in the summer of 2010. The opening act was Procol Harum. I'd seen Tull a few times in the 70's, once in the 80's and then not again until 2010 but I was aware they were around in some form or other all that time. Procol Harum on the other hand I'd not heard of in more than 30 years and figured this must be a reunion tour or something. My wife and I were absolutely blown away by the group! For our money they totally outperformed Tull. During their performance they mentioned this CD and DVD and after thoroughly enjoying the night I decided to grab it. I must be honest I was a bit underwhelmed when I first listened through. There was no Simple Sister and I thought Salty Dog could've been closer to the original. But here I am a year later reviewing it and I've got to be honest here. I have this CD on my mp3 player and listen to it in its entirety at least a few times a week. I absolutely love it. There's something about a full orchestra and chorus that grabs me but when Gary starts singing you realize he hasn't lost a thing from the 60's and if anything he's gotten better with age. I highly recommend this CD.

- Great CD!

It was great to see Procol Harum back in aciton. This CD with the Danish National Concert Orchestra and Choir sounds great.I think I like this one better than the one in 1972 with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. If you like Procol Harum you have to have this CD.
