DonkaDoo (The Good Earth) - 28 Enero 2007

- Essential Screaming Trees
I found this gem at a gas station in Iowa. It's the best $8 I ever spent-as you can plainly see-the price is 40USD now.
The EP is only 5 songs-but each one is better than any song on earlier albums. The energy on the CDs is more raw and psychedelic then previous albums.
There's a reason this album's $40.
- You can't hide in the ashes
An excellent polemic of why the EP format is vital:
"Change Has Come" is a prelude to the Screaming Trees move to the major labels, which amps up the sonic qualities of their great (but admittedly) fuzzy SST records while sanding off none of the edges. "Flashes" and "Time Speaks Her Golden Tongue" are two perfect flipsides of the Screaming Trees in their dual elements -- one is charging psychedelic rock that buzzes and sparks with relentless unbounded energy; one is elegaic, layered, sweetly psychedelic and poetic.
Do not overlook this important release.
