Seether - Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces Artist: Seether Review: Worst-lyric-of-the-year alert: "Your verbal defecation I can't wash away despite myself." So Seether frontman Shaun Morgan informs us in his Nickelback-ian growl during "No Jesus Christ," a seven-minute-long compilation of post-grunge cliches. The lip-ringed Morgan -- best known as the subject of Evanescence's "Call Me When You're Sober," as penned by former girlfriend Amy Lee -- and his band do know how to write some catchy heavy-guitar riffs. What's more, the rhythm section, while overactive, ... Rating: 1.5 Stars

Rev Theory Assault Rock Radio, American Cities, Pro Wrestlers The men of Rev Theory live by a single axiom: “People are always going to want good, loud rock music,” says guitarist Julien Jorgensen. It’s a mantra that has served them well, as the band’s two rugged, anthemic, distortion-heavy singles “Light It Up” and “Hell Yeah” are both becoming more and more ubiquitous at rock radio. They have their commitment to the road and the rubs they’ve received from bands like Seether to thank, but they also have to lend some credit to a handful of giant men wearing very little clothing. “Light It Up” got its first big exposure as the official theme song for this year’s Wrestlemania, an event they actually attended. Though they are fans themselves, they were overwhelmed by the investment of the gentlemen sitting next to them. “We had these amazing seats, and we sat right next to Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Macaulay Culkin,” explains singer Rich Luzzi. “They were jumping up and down, yelling and explaining moves to us. I was like, ‘You guys know they script this stuff, right?’ They were so much fun.” The group wrapped a successful tour with Seether and Flyleaf and are currently on the road with Drowning Pool, which will take them up to the June 10th release of their album Light It Up (check out their current itinerary after the jump). Until then, they’ll keep having to explain why they changed their moniker from Revelation Theory. “You really want to know why?” asks Luzzi. “People keep asking us why we changed our name from ‘Revolution Theory.’ That’s why.” Rev Theory May 8 - Pensacola, Florida @ Capt’n Fun May 9 - Tallahassee, Florida @ Floyd’s Music Store May 10 - Orlando, Florida WJRR Earthday Birthday 15 @ Tinker Field May 11 - Pascagoula, Mississippi @ Thunder’s Tavern May 13 - Augusta, Georgia @ The Country Club May 14 - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina @ Hard Roc
