Gasklockeområdet i stadsdelen Brynäs i centrala Gävle är skådeplatsen för en rockfestival med variation och en hel del attityd – Getaway Rock Festival.

Mellan den 6 och 8 augusti 2015 besöker metalfans från hela Sverige Gävle för att njuta av allt från hardcore och thrash metal till dödsmetal och 70-talsrock. Festivalen består av tre scener, varav en av dem är placerad inomhus i en av tegelglasklockorna. Det är ett minst sagt unikt festivalområde, men samtidigt en helt naturlig plats för banden, artisterna, genren och musiken som utgör vår festival.
På Getaway Rock Festival kan man välja att campa för att uppleva festen på klassiskt manér, men om du är något mer bekväm av dig ligger Gävle centrum en rask promenad bort. Där finner du ett brett utbud av både vandrarhem och hotell. Är du boende i Gävle går det givetvis alldeles utmärkt att sova i din egna säng för att ladda krafterna inför tre dagar fyllda av musik, fest och andra spännande event på området.

Una década después, Slipknot volverá. El 27 de septiembre de 2005, en el Velódromo del Nacional, Slipknot azotó oídos y tuvo uno de los shows más destacados de ese año, por lo que los fanáticos siempre tuvieron la intención de que volvieran. El rumor apareció en los últimos años para diferentes instancias, pero jamás se concretó.
Pero ahora sí, porque Slipknot volverá tras diez años para reencontrarse con el público chileno el próximo 30 de septiembre en el Movistar Arena, como confirma La Tercera, con un gran último disco bajo el brazo, “.5: The Gray Chapter“, y con una formación renovada, no sólo en las máscaras, sino que también en sus miembros, siempre encabezados por Corey Taylor.

Sepultura nace a fines de 1984 y principios de 1985 en el contexto de la represión policial que marcó los últimos años de la dictadura militar brasileña. Son considerados el grupo de heavy metal más importante de la historia de Latinoamérica, y uno de los más influyentes de dicho género en todo el mundo. Prueba de ello son las más de veinte millones de copias que han vendido de sus 13 discos de estudio.
Cuatro de sus trabajos se cuentan entre los más importantes de la historia del metal. Ellos son: Beneath The Remains, Arise, Chaos A.D. y Roots. Este último, vendió casi tres millones de copias en todo el mundo y se situó entre los cinco discos más vendidos en la historia del metal en el Reino Unido. Producido por Ross Robinson (arreglador de Korn, Limp Bizkit, Deftones, Slipknot, entre otros) cuenta con la colaboración de músicos como Carlinhos Brown, DJ Lethal de Limp Bizkit, Mike Patton de Faith No More o Jonathan Davis de Korn, entre otros, y parte de su grabación tuvo lugar en una reserva de indígenas Xavantes en el Mato Grosso, donde la Banda experimento y fusiono el thrash más violento y la brutalidad eléctrica con la profundidad acústica del cuero y de la madera de la percusión amazónica profunda, logrando un trabajo que cambio la historia del metal y le valió su consagración como Leyendas. El mismísimo Ozzy Osbourne (la figura más importante del metal de todos los tiempos) considera esta Obra Maestra como uno de los mejores discos de todos los tiempos.

Ta nazwa mówi wszystko. Wielka legenda metalu, twórcy klasycznych płyt „Beneath The Remains”, „Arise", „Chaos A.D.”, „Roots”. Którzy tak wspaniale wkomponowali muzykę etniczną w granie ekstremalne, którzy nagrywali z autentycznymi brazylijskimi indianami. Ambasadorzy ostrego grania z Brazylii, bezdyskusyjnie najwybitniejsi przedstawiciele metalu z kraju Pelego, Neymara, karnawału w Rio, ponętnych kobiet na Copacabanie.
A wszystko zaczęło się w 1984 roku w Belo Horizonte od decyzji dwóch nastolatków, braci Maxa i Igora Cavalerów, o założeniu zespołu i łojeniu ostrej muzyki po tym, jak kumpel podsunął im do posłuchania płytę Venom. Pewna grupa uznaje tylko zespół z Fishem / Euronymusem oraz dokonania z nimi w składzie, inni nie mają nic przeciwko poznawaniu muzyki, którą tworzy wcielenie obecne. Andreas, Paulo, Derrick Green i Eloy Casagrande nic sobie nie robią z docinków, zbywają pytania o reaktywację najsłynniejszego składu Sepultury i konsekwentnie pracują na powiększenie dorobku. Wyprodukowany przez Rossa Robinsona (nadał brzmienie „Roots”) album „The Mediator Between Head And Hands Must Be The Heart” z 2013 roku to dowód na to, że brazylijska kapela z Amerykaninem na wokalu wciąż ma coś ciekawego do powiedzenia na styku thrashu, death metalu i groove metalu.
