Sex Pistols Bring “Anarchy” To L.A., Threaten To Kill Audience Member The Sex Pistols performed together for the first time in four years last night at a private show at Los Angeles’ Roxy Theatre as they prepared for their four-date stand at London’s Brixton Academy. An audience of 500 were treated to Sex Pistols classics, performed amid heat and sound problems, and the wine-swilling John Lydon’s typical acidic tongue. The Pistols, who have collected together to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of their Never Mind The Bollocks … Here’s The Sex Pistols, played an hour-long set that featured “Anarchy in the U.K.,” “Holidays in the Sun,” and a version of “Stepping Stone” that contained the lyrics “Paris Hilton, kiss my arse.” At one point, a drink thrown in Lydon’s direction hit him in the face, causing the cantankerous singer to threaten “to kill the coward” if he caught who lunged a beverage at him. Ah, it’s refreshing to know, after thirty years, there’s still so much angst. Sex Pistols Re-Record “Anarchy in the U.K.” for “Guitar Hero” First the Sex Pistols announced a series of reunion shows timed to the thirtieth anniversary of Never Mind The Bollocks Here’s The Sex Pistols, now they’re re-entering the studio … to re-record “Anarchy in the U.K.” for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, which Rock Daily has previously noted will also feature Tom Morello and Slash as characters and tracks from the Rolling Stones, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns N’ Roses and more. In a statement to the press, frontman John Lydon said, “Re-recording [the songs] — what a stress you put on us but we rose to the occasion I think … admirably! A bit of anarchy in a video game is all right by me.” Guitarist Steve Jones added, “I like [Guitar Hero] because my friends’ kids like it. And I like what kids like.” Sounds like a band reuniting for all the right reasons.

Sex Pistols Reissue Bollocks, Warped Organizer Dismisses Free Ozzfest, Wilco Add Tour Dates The Sex Pistols will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Appetite for Destruction by honoring the 30th anniversary of their own seminal album Never Mind The Bollocks Here’s The Sex Pistols. The album will be reissued on vinyl with the “Submission” 7″ on Oct 29, thirty years to the day of its original release. Throughout October, Virgin Records will also release four replica 7″ singles from that debut album. Warped Tour organizer Kevin Lyman calls this year’s free Ozzfest “a ploy.” Wilco have announced additional dates for their East Coast-shirking fall tour. Apple sold nearly 10 million iPods last year, helping Steve Jobs accomplish a 73 percent overall rise in sales. And that’s without factoring in iPhones. Rough Trade Records, proud home of the Smiths and the Libertines, will join Matador and 4AD under the Beggars Group corporate umbrella.
