<p>Despite careers in the music biz that started way back in the dim, distant '80s, sister act SheDaisy shows no signs of flagging on their fourth major-label album. Main songwriter Kristyn Osborn again comes up with a whole slew of radio-friendly cuts, and it appears that the group have paid attention to previous accusations of not being exactly country. Here are mandolins and steel guitars in abundance, and Dan Huff's production keeps the pop at a distance without shoving it out of the picture entirely. There's evidence of a rebellious streak in Osborn's songwriting this time around with the inclusion of "Man Goin' Down," which may induce apoplexy in some upstanding citizens but will delight the band's fans, and "I'm Lit," a female drinking song featuring a cod country interlude that's undoubtedly a stab at those aforementioned SheDaisy haters. There's also evidence of that Nashville no-no, independent creativity, in the arrangements here that makes KNOCK ON THE SKY something of a subversive exercise. When the girls sing "get up off your knees and dance" in "Repent" you can feel the walls of the city quiver a bit, if not exactly shake.

- The girls of SHeDAISY got it all right
With this cd, the girls of SHeDAISY have solidified themselves as their own genre. While certainly not a pop group, they can't quite be categorized as country either, as these girls have meshed pop, rock and country into something that is amazingly unique. With solid lyrics, and constant harmonizing between the three girls, the expertly played instruments are well accompanied.
Although it seems that a few songs follow the same formula (which is in no way a bad one, mind you), this cd keeps the freshness and surprises coming. "I'm Lit" grasps the `girl on the edge' theme both musically and lyrically for a surprising second track. "Get Over Yourself" is one of my favorite SHe songs. This absolutely awesome in-your-face song has tons of energy, complete with a tight guitar solo as well.
I HIGHLY recommend "Knocking on the Sky." With funny are heartfelt lyrics, great vocals with constant harmonizing, along with plenty of great instrumental moments, it clearly sets SheDAISY apart from the rest.

- Excellent Album! Well-Worth the 3 Years
Knock on the Sky is an excellent album that has a perfect mix of tracks to satisfy any listener. Kristyn Osborn proves herself to be an extremely talented song writer, creating touching ones like "Rush" and "First to Let Go" and upbeat-themed gems like "I'm Lit" and "Turn Me On." Kassidy, Kelsi and Krisytn's harmonies are beautifully demonstrated on this album also. Knock on the Sky is more mature content-wise, than The Whole SHeBANG, in that many of the songs were written based on Kristyn's rough times with a divorce. Overall the album is perfect and was well worth the wait.

- Different and Worth It
This is my first purchase of music by SHedaisy. I liked the maturity I heard in 'Mine all Mine' so I thought maybe this CD might have something to offer. It took a few listens to get used to some of the production additions (sounds of rain, preacher preaching, techno sounding voices, celtic intro to a funky song) but I'm proud to say my ear seems to have accepted it. I'm glad they weren't afraid to be different and get of the beaten path. I think Kristyn Osburn brings a lot to country music. Her writing is quite introspective and far from dull. Perhaps it could be considered a little poppy on some tracks, but so what? What's wrong with some variety? One of the trademarks of SHedaisy is their ability to try new things and succeed at them. This CD make take awhile to catch on, but I think once they start putting out more singles, it's going to be a big hit in the end. And in case you didn't know, the single 'Knock on the Sky' is track 14 but it's hidden. You have to rewind it backwards to hear it. Boy--are you in for a surprise!! :-) Way to go SHedaisy!!

- Give knock a chance
I'm a huge Shedaisy fan, and I had very high hopes for this cd and when I bought it I was not disappointed! I know that the reviews it has had said it was awful but I really don't see where they got that from, every song on the cd is beautifully written and performed. I gave it a chance and I love it.

- Better than the last, fantastic songs and production!
Well, I baught the first, and liked it a lot. Maybe not traditional country, but taken at fact value, this collection of great country rock tinged pop songs are better than the average cooky cutter ... coming out of music row.
Take songs such as I wish I were the rain and mine all mine as examples of great country tinged pop.
This should cross over very well given the chance.
Great stuff!!
They aren't the dixie chicks, but they never clamed to be. The fact the songs were penned by one of the group, incredable musitionship by the players, esp the drummer, steve brooster who's all over some tracks makes this a mus listen if you're in to artists like CDJ or high quality country pop.
Give it a chance.
