MTV Australia VMA's Bring Out American C-Listers
Well, it seems as if the Australian VMA's aren't quite the draw for the American's as the European VMA's. When Sophie Monk and Kristin Cavallari represent the "talent" that appeared at the awards, it's just kind of sad.
While local acts such as Silverchair, Guy Sebastian and Shannon Noll picked up awards, the night belonged to pop rebel Pink and emo rockers 30 Seconds To Mars.
The ceremony, famed for its exciting performances rather than prestigious awards, was kicked off by an acrobatic performance by the "Stupid Girls" singer, Pink, suspended in mid air and showing just how flexible she really is.
Australian artists Guy Sebastian and Shannon Noll - both former "Australian Idol" contestants - won best pop video and best male artist, respectively.
Silverchair, who have just achieved their fifth consecutive number one album, were awarded a hall of fame award called the Video Vanguard Award.

ARIA Awards Bring Out Australia's Finest
Photos: Getty Images
Dude, I had no idea that Silverchair was even still doing stuff, but apparently they've been busy earning themselves all kinds of awards at the 21st annual ARIA Awards in Australia for their album, Young Modern. Who knew? Not this blogger, in any case, but I'm kind of out of touch with you young whipper-snappers and your rock music. And call me crazy, but when did the lead singer start looking like a pedophile? I'm guessing probably when he started growing out that mustache. But, let's not forget Australia's power couple, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, who were also in attendance at the event, and pictures of whom we have down below. They look quite cute together, and because I sometimes exhibit certain qualities that can be interpreted as "sympathetic," I do genuinely hope that things are going well for the recently rehabbed country singer and the movie star.

You Spin Me Round: Pearl Jam to Headline Lollapalooza 2007
Good news, music lovers: Lollapalooza 2007 is on. Even more good news: Pearl Jam is headlining. Now, the bad news: Lolla is no longer a traveling tour as in years past; this year, Perry Farrell decided the alterna-fest will be a three-day festival in Chicago's Grant Park, August 3-5, just as it was in 2005. While this is awful for East Coast snobs like me who refuse to go to the Midwest, those open-minded travelers will get quite a bang for their buck. The $195 ticket allows fans to see an astounding line-up, including The Roots, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Amy Winehouse, and Interpol.
Here's the full line-up:
Pearl Jam, Daft Punk, Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals, Muse, Iggy & the Stooges, Modest Mouse, Interpol, My Morning Jacket, Satellite Party, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Snow Patrol, the Roots, Patti Smith, Kings of Leon, the Black Keys, Regina Spektor, Spoon, Lupe Fiasco, TV on the Radio, Pete Yorn, G.
