- Original song is good, mixes are unimpressive
This mix CD cost almost as much as the album itself, so I was hoping the mixes would make it worth the price. Sadly, they didn't, at least not for me. Remixes, if they're done well, will take the song in a different direction and actually make it more enjoyable. With one exception, all the remixes sounded like the original, but with a more intense beat added. Even the lone exception, "Love to Infinity Club Mix," was rather repetitious, even for a remix, and I got bored with it after listening to it a few times. The original radio edit is on there, which is why I gave the CD three stars. It's an enjoyable song, but I bought the CD for more than just that.
The video for the radio edit, which is included on the CD, is rather dull. It's basically a bunch of swimsuit models lying around, while a guy who looks old enough to be their dad (that would be Mick) is trying to schmooze with them. I'm not sure who the video's intended target audience was.
Bottom line, if you're a major fan of Simply Red, you probably want to go with the "Home" album. If you just want the song "Sunrise," you're better off waiting until it's available on the pay-per-download services.

- Agree with A music fan from California
I have this CD also and I have to say the best part is the original version. The mixes are a little too traditional. I still gave this CD a high rating because I really liked the original version and because this CD contains the video and making of the video footage. If you collect videos you may want to get this one. It was shot in Brazil with beautiful, sexy people surrounding a pool.

- Ever heard of sampling?
Many musicians do it...Simply Red is not trying to "trick" you. They credit the original authors in the liner notes. Home is a fantastic CD. I ordered it from amazon.co.uk in March when it was first released in Europe and have had it on heavy rotation ever since. Simply Red has released consistently great music over the past decade - beyond their hits of the 80s. For more Simply Red check out the albums "Blue" and "Love and the Russian Winter."

- Simply Aware
There are just some music groups that still continue to make a good impression about what should be hip and what shouldn't be. Simply Red is still hip and dynamic with their soulful sounds and harmonies. Still, many people in the U.S. don't give them that respect as they would overseas. Their latest song Sunrise, is a perfect example of just how much the group has grown, and still kicking grounds after 20 years in the music industry together. The song seems fairly well, but I just wish that the fans knew that from the beginning, because Simply Red hasn't scored a hit album in the U.S. since 1991. It is just sad, but I hope fans can remember and rediscover this incredibly soulful group.
