Lollapalooza: The Life, Death and Rebirth of the Storied Rock FestPhoto: Eichner/WireImage This weekend, Perry Farrell will return to the stage at the rock festival he helped begin — Lollapalooza — with the original lineup of Jane’s Addiction that rocked the inaugural event in 1991. “We were something brand new — we were called alternative rock,” Farrell remembers. “Jane’s Addiction by themselves probably couldn’t have brought in 20,000 kids, but we had strength in numbers. If we invited a bunch of our friends like Siouxsie and the Banshees, Nine Inch Nails a

Siouxsie - Mantaray Artist: Siouxsie Review: Dear fierceness --can you come out to play? Goth-punk goddess Siouxsie Sioux hasn?t sounded this tough since the Banshees fell apart more than a decade ago. She recently split with husband and musical partner Budgie, who drummed for the Banshees and joined her in the globe-trotting adventures of the Creatures; it?s the goth equivalent of a royal divorce. But with all her cities in dust, Siouxsie concentrates all her eccentric music powers on her first solo album ever, one where you don?t have... Rating: 3.5 Stars

Radiohead Team Up With Al Gore for NYE Webcast, Fall Out Boy Talk Maysles Documentary, John Mayer Muses on “Douchebags” and More Tired of the usual Dick Clark New Year’s Eve fare? On December 31st at midnight, ring in 2008 with Radiohead and Al Gore. To mark the New Year’s Day release of the In Rainbows CD, Gore’s Current TV will broadcast a pre-recorded yet still-unseen performance of Radiohead playing their new album in its entirety, as well as some surprises (including a hinted-at Siouxsie and the Banshees cover). Like the band’s “thumbs down” webcast, the New Year’s performance can also be seen at Radiohead.tv at 7 pm EST, or midnight U.K. time. Following the shocking revelation that Gimme Shelter and Grey Gardens documentarian Albert Maysles was working on a Fall Out Boy film, Pete Wentz says the doc will examine “how the industry is changing” by focusing on Wentz’s Decaydance Records. The film will also document a year in the life of Fall Out Boy. According to the Ouija Board video on his Web site, Nick Cave and his Bad Seeds have a new album, titled Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!, coming out on March 3rd. Still searching for that amazing post-Christmas gift? Ghostface Killah recommends, or rather demands, you pick up your very own Ghostface Doll. Call 213-455-1493 from a “pay phone, cell phone or a jail phone.” Operators are standing by. Check out John Mayer’s blog-sized analysis of the most popular word of 2007: “Douchebag.”
