- Amazing live cd!
this cd is of the Dresden Germany aug 2000 reunion show. However, there are a few songs missing (Choralone, Hardset Head, Nature's revenge and Smothered Hope). 3 due to timing issues, while HsH due to legal issues. Hardset head was intended to be on the cd, but nettwerk did not get the rights until it was too late. However, they have since gotten the rights and released the song as a 320bitrate mp3.
This cd sounds great. The versions of the songs never sounded better!! My only gripe would be there is a lack of improv, but that could be explained as they were trying to get as many songs on this release as possible. AIDY? is still my fav live SP, but this cd still f-ing rulz!! I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who likes/loves SP.

- best mixed live album since RAMMS+EIN's Live Aus Berlin!
as I am new to Skinny Puppy... all I can say is that it sounds like the actual CD versions, except Ogre has a different style and there are a few changes/improvisations in the lyrics, music and layers of instruments. if I had listened to every single album by Puppy I could go in to greater detail. anyways, it's not at all sloppy. I haven't heard a live CD this good since Ramms+ein's Live Aus Berlin disc or Ministry's In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up. but it's obviously live... Ogre comes in a bit late on tin omen, but comes across as an excellent sounding reversion.
unfortunately, like Ramms+ein's disc... a few things were cut... it this case... Hardset Head. but! it's got Dig It and The Choke... so I'm happy. my guess is that something was supposed to be after Dig It... as you will notice a fade out. there are miscillaneous improvisations that were also cut out of the CD and also 3 or 4 songs, but are available as MP3 bootlegs. this CD probably won't be in your CD player all the time unless you're hardcore... but, it's just another excellent job by Skinny Puppy. a funny thing is that the linear notes in the booklet contain credits for the actual tour. maybe it's not so unusual as the people should be credited for what they did, but I think... this may be their compensation for not being seen on video ... other things about this CD... it's 67:48 (m:s) long, it was edited/produced by Greg Reely and the artwork is by Dave McKean (no s#!t... it's obvious). McKean's art really isn't that great on the front. even though he did it personally.
I hope you could understand my rambling... I guess that's all I can say right now. I would buy those two DVDs that came out, but from what I hear... the VHS is just as good, if not better!
"what a head trip!"

- Vey good but......................
It lacks the emotion of Ain't It Dead Yet. Don't get me wrong, theres plenty of emotion on this performance but certainly not the same caliber as Ain't It Dead Yet? The best tracks on here would probably have to be Love In Vein, Inquisition, Worlock, Testure and Harsh Stone White. My other big complaint would have to be that the drums on Deep Down Trauma Hounds lacked the pounding, heavy sound that you would expect from this song. Other than that though this is a great live cd and I highly recommend it.

- AWESOME!!!!
What a vibrant energetic CD this is. It's amazing to see the energy SP still have even years after their "break up." The song selection is great and it is nice to hear the live versions of some of these songs for the first time (at least for me) Many of them are even better than the original studio versions. I can't say enough good things about this album. It is solid, consistent, well produced and mixed, and I feel a step above the live material from Back and Forth 3&4 and Ain't It Dead Yet. Sorry there was no material from the Process, but my understanding this was for legal reasons. BRAP ON!
- AT LONG LAST!
Brap 5 is EXCELLENT! i repeat: EXCELLENT! the wait was totally worth it! all the tracks are perfectly done. lots of new sounds and dynamics were added to the songs. it's such a powerful performance. it's non-stop. not a dull moment. i guess if you are looking for Brap 5 and reading this, you already know everything that has led up to this event and record. cEv and Ogre have done a wonderful job, as well as all who were involved in this effort.
SP never gives you a dull moment.
