- A Complete and Utter Waste of Plastic! Avoid At All Costs!
How something that is advertised to be a 24 Bit remaster from 2007 can sound so terrible is something that beggars belief! Every single track has very low volume levels and when you turn up the volume, you get extremely muddy sound and nothing like I remembered hits like "Run Run Away" and "My O My" sounding like on the cassette I had years back. You'd think any "remastered" version should at least sound as good as the original master but that's not what you get here. The gentleman credited with doing the mastering on this: Yoshiro Kuzumaki should clean his ears out or look for another job. The very thin, low quality cardboard used and the overall design of this mini-lp replica sleeve version of this album is very poor despite the lyrics being printed on the inner sleeve and the 3 bonus tracks in addition to sounding even worse than the main course are forgettable live tracks as well. I struggle to find any redeeming factors for this version and indeed the only album that comes close to sounding as terribly mastered as this one is probably the mlps release of "Aqualung" by Jethro Tull.
You have been advised; give this one a very, very wide berth at least until they truly do a good remastering job so that you get a quality of sound that is worthy of the hefty price tag they've put on this baby.
Highly NOT recommended!
- Imported greatness
Slade gained more popularity in the States with the song Run Runaway. This album, I believe is the first, version of Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply, which contained that song and many of the same from this one.
- WOW!!!
Boy, do this bring back memories... An often overlooked Slade masterpiece that got a some unfair slack because of the saucy hits My Oh My and Run Runaway. Many forget the outstanding "rockers" such as Slam the Hammer Down, Cocky Rock Boys and Razzle Dazzle Man also can be found on this album. This cd is a true hard rock extravaganza and everyone who calls themselves a metal head should own it.
This re-master also includes some cool stuff as the "bouncy" Keep You Hands off my Power Supply and Two Track Stereo One Track Mind.
Maybe not quite as solid as Till' Deaf Do Us Part or We'll Bring the House Down but well worth five stars and the 23 or so dollar price tag.
