Hatebreed to release covers album

Connecticut hardcore bruisers Hatebreed have revealed that they will be releasing a 18-track covers album through Century Media later this year. For The Lions will be released in the UK on May 11. "I speak on behalf of all of us and we support Sean's decision to leave and want him to be happy and successful at everything he does," says frontman Jamey Jasta. "There are no bad feelings at all and you'll probably see him hanging on stage at some of our local shows. We're family and he will be missed but Hatebreed will forge on!"

Apocalyptica get set for star-studded new album

Apocalyptica, the Finnish cello quartet, will release their seventh studio album on August 23. 7th Symphony will feature guest appearances from former Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale, Shinedown's Brent Smith, Slayer's Dave Lombardo, Flyleaf's Lacey Mosely and Gojira's Joseph Duplantier. Slayer UK tour goes ahead

It's official, Slayer will go ahead with their UK tour, despite frontman Tom Araya’s recent back surgery. The band will kick off their tour next Wednesday (November 18) at Nottingham’s Rock City. Slayer name new album

Slayer axe-man Kerry King has revealed that the band's upcoming 10th studio release will be titled World Painted Blood. The album, which is being produced by Greg Fidelman (Marilyn Manson, Metallica, System Of A Down), is due to be released later this year.

Mastodon guitarist hospitalised

Mastodon guitarist Bill Kelliher is currently in a London hospital, recovering from an undisclosed illness. The guitarist was admitted on November 3 and was forced to miss European dates on the Unholy Alliance Chapter 3 tour with Slayer, Trivium and Amon Amarth. He is said to be improving. The band are continuing as a trio until Kelliher makes a full recovery. Mastodon will return to the UK to take part in All Tomorrow’s Parties in Somerset on December 7.

Trivium UK store signing

Trivium have announced a signing in Manchester as part of the upcoming Unholy Alliance Tour with Slayer, Mastodon and Amon Amarth.
