Disco de The Smashing Pumpkins: “Ava Adore [CD5/Cassette Single]”

I was almost caught off guard by how good the other songs were...then I just remembered "hey, this is the Pumpkins we're talkin about here". But really, I already had Adore when I bought this so I knew how good Adore was. I had also heard Czarina and I thought it was pretty good so I decided to buy it. Then when I got it I listened to Once In a While...that song is really good. So if you like the Disarm/To Forgive less heavy type of songs, or you're a pumpkin fan you NEED to buy this.

And it's from the last album where they would actually release a commercial single stateside. The album starts with the amazing "Ava Adore" which anyone who comes here has also heard. I have heard this single before; I'm probably going to buy it sometime when I get the cash. I have heard both of the B-sides though.

Neither are actually spectacular, but they are both pleasant. "Czarina" is a nice fingerpick acoustic track from the Pumpkins and "Once in a While" is nice to hear. It's interesting that there are a couple of B-sides in this era that had James Iha whenever none of the songs that made the album were even co-penned by him.

Ava Adore is a really good song. Great rhythm and lyrics. However, the 2 other songs are very slow. I was expecting the B-sides to Ava Adore a little similar to it. If you like the song Ava Adore, I suggest you buy the album "Adore" because it has a lot of good tracks. It's worth the $$$.

This release shows the brilliance of the Smashing Pumpkins and lead singer Billy Corgan. The first track "ava adore" has a new pumpkin's feel to it with added electronic beats which make it even more different from previous works of the band. The next two songs "Czarina" and "Once in a While" have a more mellow sound, but still are some of the best songs ever written and performed by the band, also "Czarina" and "Once in a While" are not available on the album "Adore" so it is worth it to get this if you are a pumpkin fan, and if you were not a fan before you got this cd you definitley will be after you get it. Out of 4 stars I would give "ava adore" a perfect 4 this is by far the best single ever from the Smashing Pumpkins!

The b-sides on this are amazingly gentle and beautiful, and are a nice contrast to the noisy (but catchy) Ava Adore. If you have extra money to spend, buy this single.
