- Definitely worth the price/wait on shipping...

This is a very cool little ep. The 3 acoustic songs are completely different from the album versions, but in a way that makes them just as good, if not a bit more enjoyable, than the originals. This is one of those recordings that gives you a feel of how the song was probably originally written, rather than it sounding like a stripped version of the track that you're used to. Very pretty stuff.

The unreleased track, "Miami Counting", was only ever available as a live version from a radio performance prior to this recording. It is a cool song that I think is better than several of the songs on "Bloodsport". This is not at all a throwaway track...it's actually got an amazingly moving, dark feel to it.

- Lovely

I ordered this from the store on their website. I personally only got it because I loved the song Miami Counting. The additional songs on it are great, i've heard them before but now you can own it. This is a great way to set up a single. Also, my copy of the single was signed by the band since I ordered it from their site. I am not sure if they are still doing it, but either way it's a nice little cd to get.

- WOW

Okay, well I just love this song. I heard this song on the Showtime series, Queer as Folk, and fell in love with it so bad, that I had to go out the next day, find who sang it, and buy the cd. Loretta Young Silk is a FANTASTIC song as well as the others.

- Worth the money to a Sneaker Pimps fan

This is a great compilation of a single, three acoustic songs, and a B-side. The single song is "Loretta Young Silks," and I can't say it's my favorite song off of the Sneaker Pimps album "Bloodsport." It has a nice trip-hop beat.

The thing that makes this single stand out apart from other singles is the acoustic versions of songs. When the band is very synthetic sounding, hearing them acoustic is quite a difference. Every acoustic song is beautiful and accompanied with more string instruments than just guitars. All of the acoustic songs, "Empathy Low," "M'aidez," and "Loretta Young Silks" are quite beautiful, mellow, tranquil and serine. There are no drums; just a light acoustic guitar or two and what sounds like a violin. The singer Chris Corner's voice stands out breathtaking and fragile. "M'aidez" has an intermittent feminine sounding backup vocalist, but not former singer Kelli Dayton of course.

"Miami Counting" puts the single back with some synth, a scratchy guitar and a charming piano sprinkled in the song here and there. It's not a radio hit, but it is still pretty good for a fan of the group. The song seems to be about a trip to meet a girl.

Now for the realistic part, almost $20 for a 5 song single is a bit much, but if you are a die hard collector like me, you'll get it and love all 25 minutes of it. For a casual fan, skip it and pick up the album "Bloodsport." The music video of "Loretta Young Silks" on the disc would have been nice too.
