 Description
A budget-priced Soft Cell hits compilation which plays off the title of one of their finest singles, the unapologetically melodramatic "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye," SAY HELLO is a handy introduction to the duo of Marc Almond and Dave Ball for those whose knowledge is limited to "Tainted Love." Shockingly, that definitive tune isn't here--no big loss, as it's on every third "hits of the '80s" compilation--which means that SAY HELLO gives listeners the ability to hear the band from a somewhat different perspective. Focusing largely on the band's later albums THE ART OF FALLING APART and THIS LAST NIGHT IN SODOM, this 16-song compilation collects the best of those uneven albums alongside wonderful early singles like "Bedsitter" and "Sex Dwarf." The lack of "Tainted Love" might be a bad thing for casual would-be fans, but SAY HELLO TO SOFT CELL is an interesting alternative to Soft Cell's many singles comps.
