Punky-pop band Jack's Mannequin started as a side project by Something Corporate singer Andrew McMahon in 2004 as an outlet for individual expression apart from his band. But it blossomed into McMahon's full-time gig when he contracted leukemia, and he began to focus entirely on his own life.
