Ode to Uncle Tupelo-Original

Dear Jay Farrar and Jeff Tweedy, You know what...I've been thinking..You guys don't have to kiss and make up if you don't want to. The various personality conflicts of a band that I did not play in is simply, none of my business. My interest in the subject has been dramatically reduced lately, as yes, I'll be the first to admit that as it's likely I'll always love me a good Rock N' Roll story, I have finally found it in me to articulate the only Rock N' Roll story that a gal like me is qualified to write. With a little arranging and a few final lines, I'll be just about done. I do however, still hold the two of you in the highest of songwriting regard and I surely do dig your records. God Speed Jay Farrar and Jeff Tweedy. It was lovely singing about you. You will be missed... Your pal, Andrea Orlen :-) www.myspace.com/AndreaOrlen = Me www.myspace.com/SallySimpsonSongwriter = My alter ego who walks with a little more twang in her step **************Ode To Uncle Tupelo lyrics as requested by Choppinsky******************* There is this record that I heard in about 94 Written by two High School friends Who started a band They had a sound it was Profound A very good sound A mix of Country Twang and Punk Rock underground But This band they broke up just like Many other bands They played their final shows to heartbroken fans These two songwriters they formed two different bands And I'm a fan I'm a fan of both bands But it's still sad bout these two high school friends Jay Farrar and Jeff Tweedy It's time you two kids hug it out already Jay Farrar and Jeff Tweedy When will you two kids hug it out already I'm getting paid to write slick Nashville productions I know it's lame but I need the royalties I listen to Uncle Tupelo without interruption Then the Faith Hill camp does with that song just what they please But all the credit it belongs to you and not to me I know it can be hard to be in a band I've had some conflicts myself that have gotten way outta hand And in your band one was silent and serious as can be The other one was Always in love with a pop Sensibility We've Read the stories just like good little fans It played out the way it played out we all understand Wilco and Son Volt You both are the man And we're your fans we're your fans of both bands But it's still sad bout these two high school friends Jay Farrar and Jeff Tweedy It's time you two kids hug it out already Jay Farrar and Jeff Tweedy When will you two kids just hug it out already And no one's asking you to get back together I'm sure you're both happier where you are Just wanted to pay tribute to your former endeavor Thanks for making Country Cooler Tweedy and Farrar Thanks for making Country better Tweedy and Farrar
