Steely Dan Album: “In Concert”

I bought this import realizing the recording actually is from the DVD released under "Hi Fi Party" a few years ago. I had burned the audio portion of that DVD to CD-R, but had some truncated beginnings to songs due to having to edit out the Donald Fagen/Walter Becker interviews between those numbers. So I eagerly anticipated this release, thinking the edits would be a lot cleaner than my clumsy efforts...well, not by much, as it turns out. The biggest thing I'm baffled over, however, is that this CD is monaural! No stereo separation whatsoever. This may be a minor thing to some people, but if you're a headphone buff like me, be warned. Ironically, I had thought I'd toss my CD-R recording of the show after getting this, but the stereo is great on it. This commercial CD is a good recording for the car or over speakers, but again it's mono.

Mostly for completists. Do not be confused

by the reviewer that mentioned there was

talk between songs. Not to be found.

I really enjoy this CD.

Having seen Steely Dan in concert numerous times

since they began touring again in the early 90`s,

I believe that this CD captures the impeccable sound

of there live performances.

Highly recommended.

What can I say - - it's Steely Dan!!! It's got to be good.
