Sublime Album: “Live 1994-1996 [DVD]”

If you love sublime you'll love this. I admit the video isn't perfect, but about 80% of the video is good. You have to realize that these videos were taken in a [bad], 1994 video camera. These videos were put in a closet for so long, until some people asked to make a dvd and vhs video, about sublime concerts. These are the only viewable concert versions of sublime in concert. I'm young, so i never had a chance to see sublime in concert. With this I got the chance to see them in concert. This video inspired me to play guitar. Now i own every sublime cd. I'm in a band, an its mostly thanks to sublime, seeing them live. They are great in concert and I think everyone doesn't know sublime until they have seen this video. Look in a local store for this video, or most likey a dvd.

For Sublime fans, everything about them it is a must have, because we could not find many things about. But this DVD is very nice and you can watch it in spetacular 5.1 Dolby. And we can listen to some beautiful new songs and new versions of the songs - like Boss D.J and Don't Push.

It is too bad that Bradley died so young and left the Sublime fans. I true believe that if maybe he was still alive, Sublime would become one of the most important bands in the world. The evolution of the sound and shape of the band could be saw in other products of the band. But his high point is here.

I got this as I have health issues and can no longer go to live shows. I buy many live DVD's from all the bands I like. It's usually almost as good as being there. Not in this case. The sound is awful. The video is awful. Not worth finishing watching. This DVD is worse than the cell phone footage of concerts, that people upload on youtube. I order these expensive DVDs because I want better quality than youtube. Paid over $30 and even $1 is too much for this junk. At least the crummy youtube phone footage is in color. To make this worse almost all that I watched was black and white and poor quality. Whether you are a fan or not, don't waste you money. Surely you can find something better that someone filmed on their phone and put on youtube.

For a fan like me so totally caught up in the music of sublime this was just another slice of heaven handed down by the genius of Bradley Knowell....For the casual fan thats just into the self titled album this prolly aint for you...Crappy sound quality and wal-mart grade cameras abound wich is pretty much a staple for sublime since they were so grassroots and Bradley left us so soon....So in my opinion if you listen to sublime everyday like me then by all means buy it really rare stuff like "Some Girls Look Good" the most dissapointing thing was the sound quality on "Waiting For my Rucca" I love that tune its one of my favs and I was just so pumped to see it live but the audio is so distorted you cant make it out...Bummer....

i'll keep it short. the video isn't perfect and sublime wasn't either. their shows were often filled with drunken slurred singing and musical improvs that many times went in directions far from the original album recordings. the beauty of sublime was and is in their true love for the music they made and the fun they had in making it and for me it's in the fun that i have listening to them. the quality and sound aren't great but it has depth.
