The 69 Eyes

Disco de The 69 Eyes: “Devils”

Disco de The 69 Eyes: “Devils”
Descripción (en inglés) :
Finnish Goth-rockers 69 Eyes' American debut combines Jyrki 69's Iggy Pop-Jim Morrison-sounding vocals with metal overtones and a dash of distinctly 1980s Euro-sounding keyboards. In an intriguing, commercial set that picks up where the Cult left off, "Devils" provides a Halloween fright-night soundtrack, while "Feel Berlin" conjures that city's mystery, energy and decadence over its dark Euro-disco groove, and "Lost Boys" merges Billy Idol's snarl with Duran Duran's pop sheen.

- finally, the 69 eyes have come to america

it's a privilidge and honor for anyone to encounter the music of the blessed 69 eyes. their music is amazing, gothic, ethereal, and hard rock at the core. with their background in glam rock/sleaze metal, the helsinki vampires make nothing but true gothic music in the truest rock and roll fashion. this time, the crew comes back with hollywood rock and roll, where everything is glammed out and ready to kick ass. Devils, is the 69 eyes first american debut and their seventh (or 8th, i cannot remember) album back home. with tracks like Devils, Lost Boys, and Feel Berlin, you'll be ready to hit the clutch and switch to 6th gear. riding down the lonely road home at the break of dawn, you'll be willing to rock out to Sister of Charity and Only You Can Save Me. with a nice mixture of scary gothic elements, grandiose keyboards haunting the background, and Jyrki's Peter Steele inspired vocals, everything in this album is damn near perfect.

- The 69 Eyes are an AMAZING band!!

One of my favorite songs on this CD is the first song I heard from this band on their website "Lost Boys". I just love everything about it. Jyrki's voice, the guitar riffs, the background vocals, the drums! So I listened to this song quite a few times before moving onto the next track "Feel Berlin" which I also enjoy. Female backing vocals are on found on the CD, but not during a live show. I am not usually fond of female backing vocals, but that is just a personal preference and it would not turn me away from this band. However, they do sound pleasing since their voices are the polar opposite of Jyrki's. My favorite tracks on this CD in addition to the two previously mentioned are "Jimmy" "Hevioso" and "Only You Can Save Me". Now, I know I just stated that I do not like female backing vocals, but something about the song "Sister of Charity" just grabs my heart. This song is amazingly beautiful. From the hypnotic voices and music in the intro to Jyrki's vocals throughout. I have always been a fan of metal acts and orchestra's playing together, so maybe that is why I find their music so enjoyable. These guys are fantastic both in the studio and live. Check them out you won't be disappointed!!!

- A new chapter of good music

After first hearing this ablum, you may be tempted to compare it to The 69 Eyes previous cds, especially 'Paris Kills.' However, I don't believe that you can do this honestly. Yes, PK was a fantastic cd but 'Devils' has begun a new chapter for the music of The 69 Eyes and there's no looking back. The cd is absolutely fantastic and is completely different from their previous albums. The songs are beautiful lyrically and the music may be considered softer in that it incorporates more piano and violin. I couldn't tell you the best songs because they're all great. I would recommend this cd to any Eyes fan and anyone else. Wonderful job, guys!

- An amazing album

After hearing select songs by The 69 Eyes and hearing their name over and over again, I finally decided to purchase "Devils", and I thank myself every day for it! With a similarity to Sisters of Mercy, Jyrki, Jussi, Bazie, Archzie, and Timo-Timo bring a blend of deep rock that is guaranteed to shake you. The vocals are incredible, the choruses are catchy, and the lyrics make you sing in the shower! This is an album to blast out your windows as you drive down the boulevard. Not only that, but if you ever get a chance to catch a show, I HIGHLY recommend it! These Finnish rockers have more energy than any band I've ever seen and are incredible performers!!

If you "wanna rock!", BUY "DEVILS"!!!!!!!!
