<p>This collection of Beach Boys musical curiosities and rarities from 1961 and '62 includes their first-ever single, "Surfin'," as well as an early version of their breakout hit, "Surfin' Safari." These early snapshots of the band provide glimpses of future greatness, particularly the demo version of "Surfer Girl," where the band's vocal sound is heard almost fully formed. The set also includes several garage-surf-style instrumentals, as well as three classic automobile-worshipping tracks done by Brian Wilson's early songwriting partner, Gary Usher, featuring Dennis and Carl Wilson on drums and guitar, respectively.
