Narrator Geoffrey Guiliani reaches the heights of irritation with his mispronunciations ("ARCH-types"), clichéd descriptions of the four band members, and pompously boring writing style (Yoko: "...her wacky self-indulgent arsty headspace").
During a Jan.'64 interview in Paris, Paul perhaps facetiously claims the Beatles hairstyle came about following a group swim. The genesis of "I Wanna Hold Your Hand." John says the "yeah yeah yeah"s in "She Loves You" were an afterthought. Their plans for an as yet unnamed movie (
).
The Tony Mansfield track is a highlight. He quickly covers a number of subjects, throwing in some humorous stories.
Most questioners in a 1964 Kansas City press conference are too far off-mike to be heard clearly. George is asked about a recent car accident. Ringo's upcoming tonsillectomy. Post-Beatles plans. They avoid questions on American and British politics. Gifts from fans. Who's the best singer? In a separate track, John admits he's not a practicing Christian.
