Rewind: The Week in Rock Daily• We spent last weekend at the Pemberton Festival, catching performances by Nine Inch Nails, Coldplay, Jay-Z and many more. We also hung out with the Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne, My Morning Jacket, Pharrell and Matisyahu. Check out the full coverage here. This weekend, we’re back on the festival circuit with reports from Lollapalooza, so check here for all the news. • Musicians continued to get political, as Ludacris joined Team Obama with his track “Politics” (which the Obama campaign swiftly disowned) while Big & Rich’s John Rich penned an anthem to McCain’s time in a Vietnamese prisoner of war camp with “Raising McCain.” • In movie news, Howard Stern plotted a remake of the Ramones’ Rock ‘n’ Roll High School, Alicia Keys made good on her prediction and will record the new James Bond theme with Jack White, we took a look back at our favorite stoner movies and Peter Travers reviewed the new Mummy and American Teen. Plus, Cheech & Chong are going back on tour! • Lawyers were busy as the Black Crowes sued Gretchen Wilson for ripping off verses of “Jealous Again” and Billy Corgan sued a videographer for not being a very good videographer. Black Crowes Sue Gretchen Wilson Over “Saving Grace” CommercialCross-genre lawsuit! The Black Crowes are suing rednecked woman Gretchen Wilson for copyright infringement, accusing Wilson of ripping off their song “Jealous Again” in her promo song “Work Hard Play Harder.” Television channel TNT is also named in the suit, as it broadcasts Wilson’s “Work Hard” in their commercials for Saving Grace. Also named in the suit were Wilson’s publisher and label Sony BMG (way to kick Sony BMG when they’re down guys). “We find the musical verses of Wilson’s song to be such an obvious example of copyright infringement that I expect all parties to reach a relatively quick resolution to avoid litigation,” said Black Crowes manager Pete Angelus. The verses of “Work Hard Play Harder” do bear a striking resemblance to that of 1991’s “Jealous Again,” but the choruses veers in separate directions. So is it enough to file a lawsuit over? Check out the two songs after the jump and decide for yourself. Gretchen Wilson - “Work Hard, Play Harder” Black Crowes - “Jealous Again” [Photo: Getty]

Jimmy Page Testifies in Bootlegging Trial, Alice in Chains Announce Acoustic Gigs, Sebastian Bach Gets a New Deal Led Zeppelin/Yardbirds/Black Crowes guitarist Jimmy Page has a new gig … as a prosecution witness in a Scottish bootlegging trial being held this week. Page has been recruited to provide evidence against Robert Langley, a businessman accused of trying to sell over 2,400 pirated CDs and DVDs, many of which were of Led Zeppelin. Sharon Osbourne’s father Don Arden, who helped foster the careers of Black Sabbath, Small Faces and ELO, has passed away at the age of 81. Now that there are no more episodes of the Gilmore Girls to star in, Skid Row’s Sebastian Bach is spending his free time working on a new album and record label. Alice in Chains will play four acoustic-only shows during the off days of their upcoming tour with Velvet Revolver. Check out the trailer for Wes Anderson’s new film The Darjeeling Limited.
