- Dark and deep cuts characterize this mix

Crystal Method showed us their skills as DJs in addition to producing on their 2001 mix, "Community Service", They're back at it with this offering, and they don't disappoint! Rising stars like Evil Nine and Elite Force feature alongside "names" you may recognize like Koma + Bones and Meat Katie. The breaks are relentless, not slowing until the final cut, and the track selection and transitions are excellent. The disc is worth hearing for several reasons: Like their last mix, TCM serves to expose you to new talented producers that you might enjoy hearing more from. Also, this is the place to get the unreleased Crystal Method track "Kalifornia" (which has a dark, urban feel similar to the style of both Vegas and Tweekend), as well as their awesome rocking remix of the Doors' "Roadhouse Blues" and a respectable take on New Order's classic "Bizarre Love Triangle". The only down moment comes in the form of the final cut, New Originals' remix of the Smashing Pumpkins' "1979", which borrows extensively from the original without adding anything special or new, and is also the most subdued track on the mix...a necessary come-down from the beats?

- love crystal method - hated this

their second worst cd. the beats are too fast, the vocals are distracting and annoying, a slapdash production, the drum beats are pedestrian. i recommend crystal method's tweekend, vegas, london soundtrack, legion of boom and even "now is the time" from their millenium remix but this cd simply sucks. it should have never been released; it just slings mud on their reputation. the best of crystal method is dark and has atmosphere; not one cut on this cd works for me. wish i could say something nice, but SAVE YOUR MONEY - or if you don't have one of the above cds, buy them instead. who wants music without 1. a good groove 2. a good melody 3. good vocals 4. some kind of atmosphere?

- Crystal Method is back: A must have

If you are a fan of techno/trance/dance, this music will not disappoint you. The first track sets the pace and you are taken on a journey that culminates with one of the best tracks on the album, 1979. There are 1-2 selections in the middle that I thought were boring but, overall, this album is a gem.

Buy it and you will keep it playing as I do. Never mind the neighbours--Its crystal method!!!!

- LA beat-fiends working the local vinyl kitchen

Nice.

Solid disc, plenty of known tracks given a sonic doctoring and some quality mixing.

The Method are fantastic live whether they do their own material, or DJ at a club. Great attitude, great atmosphere wherever they show up.

I think it's a stronger release than the first Community Service, the appearance of the awesome Hyper, who opened for TCM on their tour in 2004, is very welcome. The appearance of New Order, appropriate and well done.

If you know their sound, and what they're capable of doing, this is definitely recommended. Nothing terrible obscure, but beginning-to-end this will be a great spring-summer disc. If you thought Legion of Boom was a letdown (I don't know why, but so many people think so) don't hesitate to take TCM back.

Great cover by the way...yes, they do community service by spooning out vinyl beats. Better than serving time...

- Very impressive, a great addition to any music collection

As a long time listener of TCM, I have always enjoyed them. I just recently heard this album and was blown away by it. The vocals are solid and with artists like The Doors, Uberzone, New Order, Smashing Pumpkins, etc, how can you go wrong?! The beats are clean, the hooks and builds are catchy. Overall, I am impressed as usual with their skills and musical taste. My only regret is that I didn't find this album sooner!
