Description
The Cure: Robert Smith (vocals, guitar); Perry Bamonte, Porl Thompson (guitars, keyboards); Simon Gallup (bass); Boris Williams (drums).

Recorded live at The Palace, Auburn Hills, Detroit, Michigan.

The Cure released this concert recording immediately after 1992's live set PARIS. While PARIS showcased the Cure's older, moodier material, SHOW catches the band at their bright and catchy best. SHOW also serves as a showcase for songs off of the then current WISH album, featuring no less than seven(!) cuts from the disc. Fortunately the WISH material holds up well in concert. While supporting a new record sometimes makes bands lethargic, this concert highlights the Cure at their most interested, especially on the bouncy "Doing the Unstuck" and "Friday I'm in Love," both of which come across with more raw energy than their studio versions.

The energy also extends to zippy versions of "Just Like Heaven" and "Inbetween Days," dispelling long time rumors that the two were the same song. While "Pictures of You" brings the concert back to earth, "Never Enough" bounces the ball back to center court where it remains in play through to the (appropriately enough) finale, "End". An excellent record both as a promo for WISH and as a showcase for some for some of the band's greatest "hits".
