Jack White's first solo CD reflects the many musical efforts that preceded it: There's the snarly electric guitar he first introduced with the stripped-down White Stripes, the country sound he cultivated in his current hometown in Nashville and in his work with the legendary Loretta Lynn, and the rock energy he whipped up with the Raconteurs and the Dead Weather.

That’s right—the Grammy-winning singer/songwriter/guitarist behind the White Stripes, the Raconteurs , and The Dead Weather (dude’s also a solo artist, a producer, and runs his own record label) will be writing the score to the upcoming film.

He has been involved in so many bands (the White Stripes, the Raconteurs, the Dead Weather) and other recordings (the Von Bondies, Loretta Lynn, Wanda Jackson), that it’s almost a surprise that over the course of more than 15 years, Jack White has yet to release a solo album. Tuesday, he released his first: “Blunderbuss.”
