- Real Doobie Brothers Once Again!!!!

In 1973, I watched the Doobie Brothers in concert at the Coliseum in Indianapolis, as a warm-up band for Rod Stewart & Faces. I had become familiar with their music through the "Toulouse Street" & "The Captain And Me" 8-tracks prior to that concert, and couldn't wait for them to take the stage. They kicked a** that night, and I was hooked as a true fan of their signature sound. "What Were Once Habits..." and "Stampede" continued to perfect this sound and bring us many hours of listening pleasure. Then, Tom Johnston became ill and Mike McDonald stepped in. Suddenly, the core was no longer the Doobie Brothers, but had become a back-up band for Mike McDonald (Jazz and R&B)and Skunk Baxter (Steely Danish) stylings. It was good for the masses, but true Doobieites wished for the originals to return to the rock & roll roots and signature sound they were known for.

Since "Cycles", they have been trying to accomplish this. Finally, "World Gone Crazy" is an example of what years of effort can achieve. After you get by the Jimmy Buffett toned "A Brighter Day" (nice, but not traditional Doobies), kickin' tail rock & roll makes it appearance in full return. When I saw that Mr. McDonald joined in on "Don't Say Goodbye", I was fearful. Yet the song still carries traditional Doobieistic sound. Even Willie Nelson (on "I Know We Won") can't detract from the fact that this is the Doobies at their best.

If you've ever like the true Doobie Brothers of old, don't miss out on this addition to their discography. Instead, add it to your rotation and indulge yourself to the fact that history can and does repeat itself ... sometimes (as in this case) for the best!

- Wow!

A total surprise. Can't think of many other bands who could produce a great album like this 40 years on! Pretty faultless, not a weak spot here and Michael Mcdonald kept to the minimum! Gotta be one of the albums of the year.

- Doobies World Gone Crazy Rocks

Doobies new release World Gone Crazy is fantastic!!!! This is old school doobies at their best. There is something for all, blues, rock, mellow and the songs rock just the way the doobies albums rocked in the 70's. I can't stop listening and recommend this release to all. Congrats Doobies on a fantastic cd which we the fans have been waiting for 10 years since Sibling Rivalry.

If your in the mood to listen to rock at its best, don't wait buy this cd!!!

- World Gone Crazy ROCKS!!!!!!!!

The Doobie Brothers have put out album after album over the last 40 years.....If you haven't seen them in concert, believe me, it is an experience you won't believe.....from 8 years, to 99 years, EVERYONE is on their feet, loving every note of every song they play!!!!! This particular CD/DVD shows how they have improved over the last 4 decades!!!!! They haven't lost a beat, their sound is something you can always pick up. The voices of Tom Johnson and Patrick Simmons are as harmonious as always. The band that backs them all are Doobie Brothers. Guy Allison on keys, tears up the title song "World Gone Crazy" with keyboards like you haven't heard in Rock for decades!!! Outstanding!!! Marc Russo, on Saxaphone and Clarinet, brings chills to your soul!!!!!! And who would ever forget "Big" Mike Hossack on drums!!! And Ed Toth on drums as well, between the two of them they kick it!! John McFee, who plays everything I think, does quite a job with his guitar, voice and Violin and Steel Guitar, man, what talent!!!!!! Skylark on bass, always reaches a place that makes you want to move to the bass line...although recently not on tour with the band, due to an illness, after 15 years as a Doobie Brother, you feel his presence!!!! Get Well Soon, Sky!!!!!!!! This is a Rock album.....it takes the Doobies up another notch!!!! IT's Time for Some REAL RECOGNITION!!!!!! Come on RRHOF!!!!!! CAn't you see talent, when it's in your face!!!!!!! Buy this DVD/CD, you will be surprized and pleased and taken to a decade of NEw DOOBIE BROTHERS!!!!!!!IT's the best I've heard in a while!!! LOVE IT!!!

- Doobie Brothers Reunite With Producer Ted Templeman For Their Best Studio Album Since STAMPEDE

On WORLD GONE CRAZY, the Doobie Brothers have reunited with producer Ted Templeman, and the result is their best studio album since the 1975 classic STAMPEDE. The CD features guest appearances by country legend Willie Nelson and sometime member Michael McDonald, and includes the single "Nobody", which is a remake of a song from their self-titled 1970 debut album. This album is the one that fans of the early Doobies have been waiting for since 1975.
