- The Real Deal!

This collection is all I dreamed it would be. For years I have tried and failed to obtain a collection of the Drifters songs that included both Clyde McPhatter and Ben E. King as the lead singers. After having purchased several albums and CDs that purported to be the "real and original Drifters", I gave up. However when I saw "The Definitive Soul Collection, I decided to give it one more try. I have purchased several other artists from this company and was pleased with the result. Their record remains unblemished. I am thrilled to have at last found the truly "definitive" Drifters compilation. This CD contains their early 50's songs as well as those they later recorded in the 60's. A bonus is the excellent sound quality. This is an excellent product and I wholeheartedly recommend it to my fellow Drifter fans.

- Love this one

I read some of the reviews for this double album and was sure that it was what I wanted. When I first played it, I decided I liked the second CD the best and replayed it two more times. The words from each of the songs came right back to me years after I had heard them. The voices of the Drifters are clear and wonderful. This is a good one to own.

- Best Remastering

I have purchased at least two other Drifters compilations over the last decade and neither one of them came close to sounding as clean as this one. My other two Drifters compilations sound like they were made using inferior source tapes. Purchase this collection while it is still available on cd. Compressed MP3 files just don't cut it with their limited sound range and this is one vocal group that deserves to be heard in all their digital glory!
