Análisis (en inglés) - :
Part one of a two-part CD single (a popular dodge in Great Britain in the '90s, forcing up sales positions by tempting completists into buying two copies of the same single for the different B-sides), {&"Masquerade"} features a catchy burbling electronic melody that doesn't really fit with {$Mark E. Smith}'s usual ranting vocals. {&"Ivanhoe's Two Pence"} is more like it, with a shaggy {\guitar pop} groove supporting a dialogue segment out of an old movie" alternating with a more low-key, almost restrained {$Smith} vocal. That restraint is gone in {&"Spencer Must Die,"} a noisy harangue set to grinding guitar that almost sounds like one of the group's early {\punk}-era singles, but the sluggish {&"Ten Houses of Eve"} definitely smacks of filler. ~ Stewart Mason, All Music Guide
