Sparrows Point lauds Santacroce upon his retirement
Credited with helping school that was ‘mess’ by Bill Gates The Sparrows Point High athletics department will start up in the fall without one of its biggest fans. Oh, and the school needs a new principal, too. Sparrows Point High principal Robert Santa-croce announced his retirement earlier this month after 10 years at the school and 36 years in education.

The Smiths Photo Exhibition To Open In London
Thirty years since The Smiths formed in Manchester, a new exhibition featuring the work of photographer Kevin Cummins is to open in London. Proud Camden presents Manchester: So Much To Answer For is a retrospective of the shots Cummins took of the legendary band, the city that influenced their music and the Madchester scene that followed in the wake of the Smiths' spilt in 1987.

SHS band petition short on signatures
A petition submitted to the Tooele County Clerk’s Office by a group of Stansbury High School band parents that would put a proposed noise ordinance change on the fall ballot to allow the SHS marching band to begin playing music at 6 a.m. is short of the required signatures.

King band headed to Summer Olympics -- again!
Last summer, freshman Otis Wynn was just hoping he'd be chosen to play in the King High Marching Band. Now, the former Spain Middle School student is the drum major and practicing for the Summer Olympics. "I'm so excited about going to London this year," he said. "I've fundraised since the fall of last year."
